We bought a couple of these cool toys for our kids back when we were visiting the gift shop at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. My daughter had owned one several years earlier and had really loved it. My son was now old enough to have one, and of course my daughter wanted to replace the one that she had lost....well, you get the idea, we snapped up a couple of them.

And man, these are fun toys. My kids will play with them frequently, and they're VERY durable. I've even used them to grasp objects that have fallen out of reach or into a tight spot. Very utilatarian toys, these.

What I really appreciate is the simplicity. The kids have to use their imaginations to play with these, and I like that. They don't need assembly, they're not a cartoon tie-in, they don't require batteries, they're just....toys. I heartily recommend that you get one for YOUR little grasper.

Last summer I helped a friend with a Robot costume. It needed claws for the arms, so I got these and modified them for use in the costume. For details of the claws in use, you can visit facebook and look for 'The Rise of the Robots' movie.

Granddaughter (5) received this toy for Christmas. It was the first gift she opened. After working out what it did and how it worked -took a few minutes, she began collecting discarded gift wrappings to the point that we had to take the "CLAW" away for a few minutes so she would open her other gifts. I hear she has suddenly started picking up her toys and putting them away (using the claw) a much appreciated gift from her mom's point of view. Some rules needed to be established like what to try to pickup and what not to -but overall a great gift. I was pleased with its sturdy construction and ease of use for a small hand.

Great toy, couldn't find it here in town and so of course I found it on Amazon. He and his two brothers love the toy.
