4.0 out of 5 stars The Cartoon 'Titans' are coming, stop bagging on this set.
Bandai is about to release toys based on the Cartoon Network show, so if that's what you're looking for, then wait for those toys. This set was designed before the cartoon show ever went on the air, and is designed for fans of the "New Teen Titans" comic series that debuted over 20 years ago.

3.0 out of 5 stars Let's get some things straight
Obviously, many of you who have posted opinions on this set of TEEN TITAN figures don't really know much about them. 1st off, in this set is a GREEN MONKEY that represents changling, but now is called his original name in the TEEN TITAN cartoon--BEAST BOY. Changling is modeled after his look/costume from the 1980's Teen Titan comics. His costume on this figure is...

His costume on this figure is accurate.RAVEN is featured in her "reborn" white costume. RAVEN had a white costume after she came back from "dying" a couple of issues later after the TERROR OF TRIGON 1980's teen titan comic storyline. STARFIRE is an alien, and DOES have orange skin. CYBORG, don't ever remember him in gold/brass armor. This must be a variant figure for this set.Yes, I feel this is an incomplete figure collection. I would like to see DC Direct put out a second TEEN TITAN figure set with NIGHTWING, WONDER GIRL, KID FLASH and JEHRICO...I do hope a new set of Teen Titan figures will come out based on the new cartoon series. Also, for fans of the silver age teen titans, there are DC pocket heroes figure two packs out there of those early members---kid flash with aqualad and speedy with wonder girl. I also hope a batman and the outsiders set can be released also...To me TT and BATO were the two best DC comics series in the 1980's...

3.0 out of 5 stars The REAL Teen Titans, February 6, 2004

These are the 'New' Teen Titans that started in the early 80's. The originals included Robin, Wondergirl, etc..
The only disappointing part of this set is that Cyborg is gold. The other figures depict the characters as they were back then, not the newly revised cartoon version. They are repaints of figures issued separately. Other than that, they are great figures. The 'monkey' by the way, is Changeling after he 'changes' shape into an animal.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only one new figure!, August 28, 2003
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars

This kind of set is a horrible disappointment, and an insult to fans of the DC Direct figure line.  What we have here is one new figure (Beast Boy/Changeling) packaged with inferior repaints of existing figures (Cyborg and Raven) as well as one unaltered existing figure (Starfire.)

I would like to own the Beast Boy/Changeling figure, but I do not need a duplicate Starfire or repainted duplicates of Cyborg and Raven.  Unfortunately, the Beast Boy/Changeling figures are not available separately.

It is enough to make me stop collecting the Teen Titans figures, if this is the shape of things to come.

2.0 out of 5 stars Old school vs. New school, February 9, 2004

These toys are quite obviously NOT what fans of the Teen Titans cartoon (Cartoon Network) expect. Beleive it or not, these characters existed LONG ago in DC comics as a sort of 'Junior-Justice League' (see cartoon network cartoon by same name) The monkey is probably supposed to be beast boy AS a beast, the old cyborg's color was really inconsistant, so gold isn't too far off, Raven in white? Starfire with hair too long? While you're here on Amazon, do a search in 'books' for Teen Titans, you will find collections of their old comics with images very similar to the toys you see above.

I do agree at least, that these toys are aimed totally incorrectly in terms of audience. They should release figures from the TV show soon.

Beast Boy is my favorite I wish there was more of a selection to choose from. And I wish he could change like a robot figure or something.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why I Don't Like This Set!!, January 19, 2004

... There are many flaws.

1. Beast Boy's clothes.
2. Raven outfit.
3. Starfire's hair and skin.
4. Cyborg's muscles and clothes.
5. Who's the monkey?
6. Where's Robin?!

Change these flaws by March, or else I'll round up Teen Titans fans and pummel Toys R' us. Here are the real corrections!

1. Beast Boy's shirt: Black outside, purple inside

2. Beast Boy's pants: Black

3. Beast Boy's shoes: SNEAKERS, purple/black

4. Raven's outfit: cape-violet, bodysuit-violet, boots-violet, it's a cape,not wings, cape-hooded, hair is violet,not black.

5. Starfire is a white girl, not gold, and her hair is only up to her bottom.

6. Cyborg is more muscular and is silver and blue, not gold.

7. Replace the monkey with Robin.

I gave this toy ones, only because I had to rate something.
