There is NOTHING special when it comes to the USB cable a Kindle 2 or Kindle 3 need. All you need is a generic cable such as this one Sync & Charge USB Cable for Amazon Kindle (White) or you can simply type "USB Type A to Micro-B" at the Amazon search prompt or type "Kindle cable". When evaluating your search results keep in mind that charging cables that work with Kindle 2 will work with Kindle 3 as well and vice-versa.

Get this one if you don't mind the price and you need an extra cable for your Kindle or if you just need a USB TYPE A to Micro-B cable for anything or get it from elsewhere for less.

We have just completed our first week with the Kendle Fire and have some first time opinions. We are both SENIOR citizens and always have some problems with NEW TECH DEVICES. The FIRE is easier to use once some start-up problems are solved. The FIRE does not come with an OWNER MANUAL so repeat start and stop steps to get use this Kendle as compared with the unit just below the Fire unit. The phone contact people have been VERY HELPFUL AND VERY PATIENT with the answers for us OLD folks. It really is a step up and has more bells & whistles than we will use, but maybe we will get smarter with time. Seriously, the FIRE is definately should be considered.

There was a problem with this, evidently the company inadvertently uploaded a description that implied it had an exchangeable tip. The product I got did not. The USB adapter for Kindle is much better than the original, well made; etc. The company has been very good about sending me the correct item.

So, this company seems to really take customers seriously and the usb connector I did receive is well made.

Their customer service is excellent as well.

Having a USB Kindle Charger that is dependable is Very Important. Gomadic really impressed me with their customer care and product.

Not really what I was looking for. really corny hookup. didn't work anyway. I ordered this for my kindle to charge. It comes in really odd pieces. Then you kinda hook it all together.

I have never seen an electric cord disintergrate like this one. I called Cust. service and they are replacing the cable part only.This is a satisfactory answer to my problem.

After about a year or little less the plastic coating on the cable came off. It was weird, it all flaked off at the same time. I usually go a week or more between charges on my Kindle. I picked it up one day to charge and the coating just all came off in my hands. So I used electrical tape to cover bare wire, and it still works so far. Wonder where this was made?

I was surprised when I received it in the mail because it did not consist of just one piece aka the cord. It was a two piece item: the cord with a USB connector on one end and what appears to be the female end of an AV piece-like where you plug your AV cords into at the back of a TV. The second piece was the male end and fitted into the female end. On the other side of the second piece was the end that plugs into the Kindle. It does the job of charging the kindle, though. I gave this product 4 stars because it did not come in the format that I expected, but still does what I bought it for.

I bought the cheaper versions first after the Kindle brand cords fell apart. A problem is that if the plug is accidentally pulled out of the Kindle, it won't go back in and hold without falling out and eventually won't charge. I had this happen with the Kindle adapters (2) and then I bought the cheap cords. Those worked great as did the Kindle cords until something happened and it was pulled out and then I couldn't get the plug to stay in the kindle without falling out. Eventually it wouldn't charge. So I turned to the much more Gormadic cords. They are well made, they work and they have a lifetime warranty. I have owned the car charger and the plug in charger for awhile and haven't had the problems I did with the other cords. Despite the price, the effectiveness and quality of the cord is well worth it and there are no substitutes.

I was not to receive this product for approximately 7-10 days. I received this product in three days. Gomadic has always come through quickly and thoroughly. If any issues, call and the issue will be resolved quickly and professionally. When offered, I will always go for the Gomadic version of any product.

The USB cable wich is provided with Kindle has a very bad cover. In 6 months the cover is in bad condition. This USB cable is made of a very good quality, do not get bad as the original one. I recommend it.
