What's not to love? It's the original ViewMaster! Instantly brought back memories from my own childhood. (My mom even saved our slide reels that work great in the new one we bought!). My 2-year-old and 4-year-old both enjoy this toy. Holds their attention for a little while at least! My daughter had an easier time using the pull down handle, but she's more fine motor oriented than my older child. The slide reels themselves are flimsy and bend easily, but this Viewmaster is incredibly tough and takes falls and beatings well.

This ViewMaster viewer is very much the same as the one I had when I was a child. Very durable, and it is easy for young children to use. The price is certainly reasonable, making it easy for everyone to afford. Children will love it, and with a few reels, will be enthralled for hours. You can't go wrong with this item. It is difficult, however, to find a great variety of suitable reels. I recommend the scenic and nature reels, and the wild animal reels.

I bought this because I loved mine when I was young and because I'm rather old-school anti-technology. My almost three-year old LOVES it - and I adore the 3-D pictures... The additional discs shoulds be cheaper, though.

EVERY HOUSEHOLD NEEDS ONE OF THESE! AND A NICE CHANGE FROM ALL THE BATTERY OPERATED ITEMS THATS OUT THERE.

It's just what my husband and I remembered. We love it. My child loved it too.

Just like you remembered, but more fragile. The cards stick sometimes and don't rotate around when you pull the lever. I can't imagine them lasting long with children.

The best MODEL of all the many View-Master products. This is the most user friendly for small hands!

My daughter LOVES this toy just as much as I did when I was a child. It is just as durable as the one I had many years ago and I expect it to last a long time. Very well constructed with no loose pieces. Your kid has to be pretty determined to break this toy as there just isn't much to this toy TO break. Perhaps the handle? I doubt that though because the one I had as a kid lasted FOREVER. If you like your toys to be basic, quiet, encourage imagination, and very durable, I highly recommend this toy.

Purchased this toy for my 2 neices and 1 nephew! Instead of buying all of these up to date/new toys, I decided to go RETRO. When the package came to my job and i opened it, all of my coworkers played w/these view masters!! Including myself!!! NOW, one of my coworkers is ordering 4!
I know my neices and newphew will love theirs. So, this product is GREAT!!!! THANKS!!!! and Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this for my 5 year old grandson for Christmas 2011, obviously he has not played with it yet, but I think it will give him many hours of entertainment and pleasure. He is a bug and dinosaur nut, believe the 3D pictures of his favorites will be a big hit! Appears to be sturdy enough for his handling, as reviewed by his father and myself.
