5.0 out of 5 stars More fun training, December 30, 2002

This review is from: Classical Circus Equitation (Hardcover)
I love this book, sadly currently out of print. It is perfect for owners of Iberian horses and their descendent breeds as they find the work fun and easy. The methods are clearly explained - no mystique - and the results astounding. Sylvia Stanier is a comsumate horse trainer and this comes through on every page.

5.0 out of 5 stars A gem, January 30, 2011

This review is from: Classical Circus Equitation (Hardcover)
This is one of those books that should not be out of print, but unfortunately is. You don't have to be a circus performer to benefit from it! It covers many topics: Liberty work, high school, tricks, quadrilles, and vaulting. The tone is classical - it's about basic training. Even people who train minis could learn a lot from it.

It is particularly difficult to find printed information about quadrilles, so any dressage riders who are interested in team riding (pas de deux, pas de trois, or bigger teams) will find good information, and ideas about patterns.

This book is copiously illustrated with photographs and drawings.
