It's difficult to find enjoyable, melodic pieces adapted from great classical composers that are suitable for intermediate guitarists. This collection defies that custom. Here we have a collection of pieces, a substantial collection of pieces, about 30 in all, that gives us exciting music from a contemporary of Bach. The music in presented in both standard notation and tablature. The songs are moderate in length. There are some difficult pieces, in keys that will give trouble to the average guitarist, but overall this is a collection that is on-target for those of us with moderate playing skills. There are songs with drop D tuning, which makes a nice variation on the usual E bass tuning, adding a nice lower depth to music in D major/B minor. The one drawback is that the pages are not spiral bound, and the book must be turned constantly as the pieces are played.

Overall, a worthy addition for a classical style/fingerpicking style guitar for those of us who enjoy delightful and challenging re-workings of a great Baroque composer.
