I LOVE, LOVE this CD.
The ancient and powerful vibrations of the veena are ideal for experiencing deel tranquility.
I love to play this while I am at work or right before I got to sleep.
I don't know of any other recording that is so simple and beautiful.
Just try one track and you will be hooked.

I don't know if I would use this recording for my meditation practice--the others from the series are better for this--but this recording is a jewel still.

Deep, resonant, masterfully played, the sound of the veena is soothing and peaceful. The Veena is not as famous as it's relative the Sitar, but I think it is much more soothing the sound it produces.
The Veena is actually one of the most ancient instruments from India.

Also the cover and art is lovely.

This album is a collection of various soothing musical compositions from the ancient Indian musical instrument Veena.
The tune from the ancient musical instrument is really soothing for the mind especially when stressed out or craving for some peaceful music or just to relax in your free time.
The various Ragas(tunes) depicting different states of mind is amazingly composed and played.
I strongly recommend anyone to buy this considering so much of benefits for the quoted less cost.

I understand that the Veena is an ancient and important instrument of India,its considered a very difficult instrument to master and requires a very delicate touch, this artist is for me great,with a delicate and at the same time powerful touch!

this CD makes me homesick for India. the music is so beautiful and clear. i get images of india, its packed and colorful streets, clothes, people and buildings every time i listen to this music.

Astonishingly beautiful and powerful, I love this instrument.Very deep music,my favorite so far in this genre.

I really enjoy this CD. I don't use it for meditation however, I enjoy it during my morning yoga practice. Track one eases me into my practice and other track like #4, which is a faster pace, keeps me moving and motivated. I also enjoy listening to the whole CD at dinner and when working. It has an healing effect that puts me in a calm and peaceful place when I'm doing other things and not sitting for meditation.

Once I'd tasted Indian classical music and become first used to it, then happy with it, the next step was to appreciate the instruments and the skill and mastery they demand. Some like the flute came easily but the strings took longer. This album on the veena is an accoustic delight well worth taking the trouble to actually listen to and not just have playing in the background. Although that too is the next step once you've been hooked.
