This review is from: Classical Rockies (Audio CD)
The villain idea that in order to simulate nature and calm, you have to superimpose bird songs, water falls noises and so on is simply dreadful. The performances are ok, not impressive but not to toss, the selection is like many others around and it is acceptable. Again the noises are, to me, intolerable. As the other reviewer puts it, good for back drop "harmonious" noise, but not for listening to memorable music.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Classical Rockies (Audio CD)
Classical Rockies is an audio CD of nature sounds superimposed upon ten classical selections. The nature sounds consist of bird calls, birdsong and water flowing over rocks. The music selections are mostly excerpts from familiar works and are performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. The selections were clearly chosen to create a relaxing, pleasant ambiance with the nature sounds.
There is nothing remarkable about the performance of the music selections. The performance is lackluster and run-of-the-mill. However, several of the selections catch my attention because they blend so well with the bird calls and brook sounds. Gluck's Dance of the Blessed Spirits, Chopin's Nocturne in D Flat, Debussy's Reverie and the Swan from Saint-Saens's Carnival of the Animals are all quite lovely with bird and brook sounds in the background.
If you are looking for great music, skip this CD. However, if you want pleasant, non-distracting background, this CD does create a nice ambiance. This would be a great CD for a spa, a cafe or a retail store. I play it in my house, not for listening, but for background.
