I purchased the Rhythms del Mundo: Cuba album a year back, and I loved it - I felt like the remixes were unique reinterpretations. With Classics, though, many of the remixes lack the creativity that defined the previous disc in the series. Too many songs are given the "Cuban treatment" of a Cuban percussion line and some horn accents and almost nothing more. This is further compounded by some badly chosen songs for certain artists that resulted in a few unflattering vocal performances.

Like previous reviewers, I will admit that amongst the mediocre songs there lie a few gems... Just maybe not enough to justify purchasing an entire album.

Like several others I bought this because I had the first album.

It's not bad and I've got it rotating on my player but it's not as good.
I do like all the brass instrumentation. It's easy listening and rotates well.

This is a great CD when you want to listen to popular music but with a Latin/Tropical feel. You get the benefit of songs you know without they overpowering your conversation.

great for a party, ppl will say, "Did I just hear what I thought I just heard!" Love it!

Some of the covers are horrendous, like The Killers' cover of Hotel California; some were ok like The Editors' cover of Walk on the Wild Side; but some covers are truly fantastic like Rodrigo y Gabriela's rendition of Stairway to Heaven. All in all, a good buy if you like a light, Cuban/Spanish, even tropical twist to your favorite rock songs.

I loved this CD. Great music to chill out with during beautiful summmer nights. I love it.

A spectacular CD. A new take on familiar classics. Done to perfection. I could listen to it all day.

I do have the Chythms Del Mundo - Cuba" and this is a nice addition to a collection.

Moving a Pop to Salsa is quite interesting and this CD does demonstrate all that. Great selections.
