3.0 out of 5 stars
Important book, but out of date.,

This review is from: The Classification of Stars (Paperback)
This book is a nice resource for the professional astronomer, but is definitely out of date, with its emphasis on photographic plates. It has little mention of electronic detectors or recent calibrations of cool stars in the red. The discussion of the physical effects modifying the lines is very limited. But the chapters devoted to each spectral type provide a nice overview of the subject. In summary, a good book ready for a new edition!.
