Please ignore the one star rating by the previous puerile reviewers who do not understand that you rate products for content and not by Amazon's service.
This is a must have reference and study book for all Hematologists and Hematopathologists in training and practice the world over. I have even have the fortune to work in the same institution as Dr. Jaffe. A welcomed update!

The 2008 WHO classification for hematolymphoid neoplasms is an absolute must for every practicing hematopathologist and all general pathologists who sign out lymph nodes or bone marrows. It has wonderful blue box summaries of the main diagnostic points needed. Written by an assembly of world experts in hematopathology it is necessary for your bookshelf!

The book was shipped next bussiness day even with standard shipping (of course subject to its availability on Amazon). I will strongly recommend Amazon as the potal to buy this book. The condition of the shipped item was very good

Can someone block the price gouging?,

I gave up on my Amazon order after months without getting it. The poor distribution of this book is well known. However, $900 for a $100 book is quite simply not right. I am sure the text is good but will wait for the publisher to get its act together.

The WHO classification - is what it is, the definitive text.
What I am annoyed about is that my peers who ordered this book through the actual WHO website, have received their WHO books a month before me, while I have still been standing on one foot waiting for my prerelease order on Nov 19 2008. (Originally this was to have come out Sept 1.) When I ordered the older version of this text two years ago via the WHO website I had to wait no less then 8 weeks. That is why I chose amazon.com this time. I would recommend ordering from the WHO website for this, my colleagues have their copies long before me this time. this is important especially if one needs this for an upcoming rotation. |
