Book Description

A Life Filled With Riches

The riches that mean most to Teresa "Toots" Loudenberry are the loving friends and family she's accumulated over the course of a life well lived. And now that her daughter, Abby, has married her beau Chris and settled down near Toots in Charleston, life is even more satisfying than the delicious pralines sold at Toots's bakery, The Sweetest Thing.

Abby isn't the only one enjoying a little romance. Toots's friendship with Dr. Phil Becker has grown unexpectedly close. . .and that brings both joy and complications. As a distraction, Toots throws herself into helping Abby and Chris open an animal rescue shelter on their plantation. But life takes a serious turn when two young children disappear after visiting The Sweetest Thing. Toots immediately enlists Ida, Sophie, and Mavis to help in the search. But as Sophie's psychic abilities draw them closer to the culprits, they realize the stakes are much higher than they ever could have imagined. . .

2.0 out of 5 stars Only 1/4 through the book October 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I will come back but at this point in the book, I really have to say it stinks.
I love her books, but I really do not see where this is going but as I said I am only 25% through. Just wish is was better and I was anxious to get back to it.
OKAY, I have finished the book...sorry I can't give it anymore stars. Frankly it was a waste of my time reading it. This is not the Fern Michaels of old! The story was just OK but I for one of many am tired of the "flipping the bird" and the language. I am not a prude but the language just sounds so phoney..at certain times it makes a point but when used so often for no reason it dilutes the effect. AND how can a newlywed not suspect she is pregnant when she has missed 4 periods and is throwing up, even if she is irregular??? This was so stupid and unrealistic, just adds to the fact that FERN is losing her touch or just doesn't care!

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST AUTHOR October 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I absolutely enjoy reading any of Fern Michaels books.........especially the Godmother's and Sisterhood series.
I'm afraid that Classified is the end of the Godmother series...................I can't wait to read her "next" book and then
I'm sad that after I've read it it's over till her next one that doesn't come out fast enough!. Maybe I'll have all of her books buried with me when the "time" comes.
Fern Michaels is a fantastic writer...........regardless of the topic..............her Texas, Vegas and Kentucky stand alone
series is right up there with all of the N.Y. Times Top Ten authors!!

Fern Michaels did it again. The Godmothers are up to their same old tricks. I love this series. Finding out what their new paranormal activities are, what has changed in their life's and who is slamming who. Relationships that have withstand the hands of time and the spirits they each encounter. Now that they are Grandmothers I can't wait to see how they deal with their paranormal activities and grandchildren.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lousy November 16, 2013
Format:Paperback
This was the worst Godmothers book so far. The plot was very thin. It introduced a story line that was not finished. Mostly all it was about was the sex lives of all the characters. It is NOT the end of the Godmothers series. There is another one coming, "Extra! Extra!". Hope it is better. I just started the new Sisterhood book, "Blindsided" and it is already 10 times better and I am only on page 50!

2.0 out of 5 stars Godmothers January 9, 2014

Somewhat jumbled storyline - very predictable. Was not an engaging story. Probably will not continue this series as the interplay between the godmothers became tiring and repetitive.
