I am not sure if anyone is aware of this, but this is not a plastic or press-on board storage compartment. It is not listed anywhere on the site that this is cardboard.

Edit 7/15/2011: Because I have been e-mailed a couple of times; Please take a look at when I posted this... January of 2010. The item description has been updated since then. When I called and returned it they paid for the return shipping (and was very kind about it too) and apologized because it was not mentioned anywhere it was cardboard. Sometime between then an now the description was updated to read it is sturdy cardboard. If you look at another posters question they were asking if it was sturdy. I do not find it a coincidental that they would also comment on it being sturdy since someone asked... Please do not take my comments as rude, but look at when I reviewed this item and notice other people commented on the lack of description, and realize it probably has been updated.

The classroom keeper construction paper unit is great. It keeps the large construction paper in my classroom neat and damage free. When I was keeping the paper in one stack the students would try to pull pages out from the bottom to get their favorite color and would unintentionally damage other sheets and make a mess of the stack. This product keeps all the colors separate and doesn't take up very much room. The cardboard construction is holding up well, so far. I would really like to find one made out of a stronger material.

This holds very large paper. The fact it is made from cardboard is good for several reasons: it is light weight, it is inexpensive, and it is strong enough for the job at hand. I have it holding reams of letter, legal, and ledger sized paper, plus large mailing envelopes. All other ledger paper storage solutions cost much more and have fewer slots.

Like reviewed before, the item is cardboard. The listing does not describe it to be cardboard and the photograph would not lead me to believe it is.

Shoplet is great though. My item actually arrived overnight and I will happily by non-cardboard items from them in the future.

We work with a lot of plans and 11x17 organizers can be expensive. While this is cardboard, it is a stronger cardboard that has held up well. I think it works well if you are not planning on stacking heavy items such as textbooks. We fill the slots pretty full and you can't see any dents or bends yet!

I bought for home use to get my kids paper under control. I use it for 10x18 drawing paper, painting paper and colored paper. My drawing paper is a stack of 500 and is a nice medium weight and it fits all in one slot. The rest of my paper I don't have in that quantity so the slots are much deeper than I need. It takes up more of my closet than I anticipated, but I could have measured it out before I bought and looked to see if there was a smaller size with narrower slots. It is better than my old system of having one giant stack making it necessary for me to get out any paper besides the top type for my kids. It seems very sturdy, though I don't have it maxed out by any means. It was easy to put together, I read the directions and my five year old did all the steps with me holding the big pieces as she folded. I would have liked to have gotten a wooden one, they are just so expensive so I was happy to give this one a try.

I read in previous review about this being made entirely from cardboard, and still ordered it, thinking it probably was better than what was said... Epic Fail... Save your money and build your own as I am doing. A simple and affordable 11x17 storage rack does not exist I have concluded.

I ordered this to add to storage in my children's play room for the arts/crafts corner. When I opened the very flat box, I thought I had received an order of disassembled shipping boxes. This organizer is made of the *exact* materials as the shipping box it was sent in, which is what they advertise. Just making sure that's pointed out. Beyond those details, the design and structure are quite well made and as sturdy as you as you would expect with cardboard. I was pleasantly surprised that it held everything securely. We have a great deal of heavy card stock stacked on the shelves and see no signs of the shelving bowing or giving. it's well made. I gave it four stars because I do wish there was element of decor to it, color options, patterns...something. but really it deservs 5 stars as it's exactly as advertised. I have very large over-sized construction paper in the shelves, way larger than the standard 8.5x 11.
