There are many books on classroom management, but this one is unique in that it compares effective and ineffective methods side-by-side (p. 221), especially for slower students. As an experienced teacher, I found this comparison quite useful.

Examples:

NOT WORK "Mostly open-ended questions."
WORK "Mostly narrow teacher questions with a `right' answer."
