The classroom dulcimer for beginners of all ages,
By Larry Anderson (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Classroom Dulcimer (Spiral-bound)
Rather than being six, I am sixty. When I picked up my old dulcimer, 25 years in the corner, I looked for a place to start and found Lois's book. It is simple, well layed out and good for someone like myself who does not read music. I practiced stums and labled the appropriate frets. The problem for me is that the promised audio tape was never produced and, not being familar with many of the tunes, I am at a disadvantage when trying to bring my playing up to speed. I adjusted for this by also buying book of songs by the Beatles arranged for the dulcimer. Between the two books I am developing, through regular practice, into a better player. If you are just starting out, Lois's book is a good place to start, but unless you are familar with the tunes you can only go so far
