Irene's style is easy and warm-hearted. Her story offers something for everyone who seeks to find inspiration and encouragement in livng out God's Will in their family life. This book brings humor, insight, inspiration, and practical advice to homeschoolers and others alike. I have already begun to use it as a reference book as well, re-reading thoughts, ideas, and even recipes as I go about my week. Husbands will enjoy this book too! A wonderful story and helpful tool! 5.0 out of 5 stars A New Favorite, November 6, 2006
This review is from: From the Classroom to the Kitchen Table: The Many Rich Blessings of Homeschooling (Paperback)
This book has been added to my bookshelf as one of my new favorites! Whether or not you homeschool, if you have kids, this book will have some great information for you. My favorite section has to be the organizing section. Irene has great organizing tips that are DOABLE. Some organizing books and homeschool books I have read are impossible to implement, unless you are perfectly disciplined and have endless energy. This book is written like a friend talking to you while sharing a good cup of coffee, not like a lecture on how you could be doing better. There are lots of tips to try on organizing kitchens, bedrooms, family rooms, dining rooms, so that they are comfortable and homey as well as functional. She discusses different types of homes as well, whether you live in a rancher, a 3 story, apartment, etc. you are bound to get some ideas on how to make your living space better. My next favorite section is about your children and how each one learns differently. It would help you to help your child with homework or homeschooling. Irene also includes recipes (quick and easy) and time management tips among many other chapters. I also liked the questions to ponder at the end of each chapter, they helped me brainstorm and prioritize about what could make my homelife run more smoothly.
