More About the Author

Barbara R. Blackburn has taught early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school students and has served as an educational consultant for three publishing companies. She received her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Now an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, she received the 2006 award for Outstanding Junior Professor at Winthrop University. She regularly presents motivating and engaging workshops to teachers and administrators in elementary, middle, and high schools.

Barbara Blackburn obviously knows what it's like to be a classroom teacher. Every one of the chapters - from A to Z - is loaded with practical guidelines for engaging students in meaningful learning experiences. Classroom Motivation from A to Z is a perfect tool for professional development for teachers of all levels. Principals would be wise to put a copy in the hands of every teacher in their school. It will spark conversation and lead to more motivated students - and teachers!
