This book written in 1996 is still highly pertinent and useful for any school district providing support services for deaf, hard-of-hearing, or other students who cannot take their own notes. It involves peers but only with training, and the model for that training is provided in the book. Deaf students cannot merely get copies of other students' notes since they are written for the writer, and have been proven to be not helpful to deaf students. The author, whose name is misspelled in the bibliographic entry, is Jimmie Joan Wilson, a professor with many years of classroom experience in managing notetaking and in notetaking training for deaf students. She is also the mother of two mainstreamed deaf children. This book is highly recommended for any program desiging an effecient, effective method of providing support services for deaf students.
