This CD is awesome!!! It brings back so many pleasent memories and with them tears. I lived in what use to be known as the Robert Tayler Homes in Chicago,Il. As a kid I would hear the songs from this soundtrack blasting from screendoors from inside the many apartments as I played. The Moms would play the songs off that LP as though it was their anthem. Those were some hard times back then, Those women held it all together for us. Claudine plays tribute to them, when the tough got going they got tougher. I am a long way form the Robert Taylor Homes (Housing Project) but the songs from this CD reminds me where I come from and the sacrifices that were made to get me where I am. Who-ever you are buy this CD Glady Knight's soulful voice will reach right down in your heart and squeeze. You will feel every struggle, pain, and joy of Claudine.

When I was 15, Gladys Knight & the Pips were arguably the most popular group in the country. The soundtrack for "Claudine", written and produced by the late, great Curtis Mayfield, was a tour-de-force for the group, as well as a modest cinematic hit for stars Dihann Carroll and James Earl Jones. But the real treat here is the soundtrack for Gladys' acting debut, "Pipe Dreams", containing the # 12 R&B hit, and my personal favorite Gladys performance, "So Sad the Song". The movie was a bust, but the soundtrack is finally available again. It only took 31 years.

"Make Yours A Happy Home" brings tears to my eyes almost everytime i hear it. It reminds me of the closing scene in the movie where they finally get it together. Me being a step-dad, i felt Rupe's pain in that movie, so the soundtrack gives me a lift as well as bringing back memories of a simpler time in my life.

Couldn't find it anywhere but my fav site. The sound quality is good and I haven't heard any complaints so far.

I purchase this "Claudine" CD because I love Glayds Knight. The songs I remember are great on this CD. I didnt realize that the soundtrack to another movie was on this CD as well. I didnt see the other movie hence didnt know that soundtrack, but Gladys Knight's voice is the best

Believe it or not, I still have the LP. I am updating my music collection from LPs to CDs and I found Claudine. I love Gladys Knight and the Pips, and Curtis Mayfield. When I heard the CD, I had forgotten how pretty the instrumental theme song was, but remembered it right away when it started playing. I play it at home, at work and in my car. Pipe Dream, I don't remember as well as Claudine. There are a couple of songs I remember; So Sad The Song and Pipe Dream. I don't like to refer to these old movies as "blaxploitation." It gave a lot of black actors jobs that had eluded them before. I may not have totally agreed with the storyline sometimes, but that's how the powers that be see us, even today. So Sad the View!

I am thrilled to see this soundtrack again. It brings back wonderful memories from childhood. My parents took us (me & 3 siblings) to see this movie. After that, trips 'down south' weren't complete until this played on the 8track player at least 6 times! My mother loved Gladys Knight, harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and Lou Rawls! I hope I've created musical memories of family for my own children, that when I'm gone, will remind them of me.

THIS ALBUM I DIDNT HAVE WHEN I WAS YOUNG BUT I WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE SONGS BECAUSE OF THE MOVIE JUST LIKE SPARKLE CURTIS MAYFIELD DOES IT LYRICALLY ITS LIKE WHEN YOU HEAR HER SINGS SHE PULLS THE SONG OUT OF THE PAPER MAKING YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT LIFE N LOVE AND ALSO SAD ABOUT

The only thing better than the movie was the soundtrack. I loved all of the music from the movie and I just listen to it over and over again. Curtis Mayfield was a musical genius, and Gladys Knight and the Pips were clearly at the top of their game. I love this CD.

One of the best products ever released by Gladys Knight and The Pips......Just listen to "Invisible".....I go nowhere without this CD.....Great product.....
