4.0 out of 5 stars Absence of the most important song hurts, August 2, 2002
This review is from: Clay Pigeons (Audio CD)
"It's Now or Never" is obviously the song that everyone associates with this movie, and it's just not there on the soundtrack.

However, what is there is pretty darn good. To one unfamiliar with the movie, it's a mishmash of rock, pop, and country mixed together, but to one who's watched the movie carefully, it all makes sense, From the raucous "Timebomb" to Jimmy Wakely's "Moon Over Montana" and all in between such as "Everybody's Talkin' Sara Evans "Almost New", Don Gibson's "Sea of Heartbreak", Sister Hazel's "Let Your Love Flow", even Pat Boone's "Moody River" and the title song.

As a matter of fact, those who think they don't like country, or don't like rock, or don't like older pop music, will find their musical tastes expanding as long as they listen to the music in relation to the movie itself. The way the music's used gives a whole new perspective so that you can see what each style of music is really about.

5.0 out of 5 stars great compilation, November 11, 1998
This review is from: Clay Pigeons (Audio CD)
great movie. great soundtrack. the remake of "let your love flow" will have even the most hardcore, anti-70's folks tapping away. . .the "real" (i.e., not "young") country songs take your breath away and they remind you of how classic country music can be. the first song "timebomb" is a gem. just a great CD to have in the car as you are be-bopping down th eroad.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great soundtrack from a great movie., September 7, 2001

I was a little disappointed by some of the missing songs, especially It's Now or Never from one of the best scenes in the movie. Proof that it is not easy to get the rights to sell an Elvis song. But, can you judge on what is missing? No-- judge this soundtrack by what is there. This CD sports 11 really great tracks which more than make up for the inclusion of "Almost New" by Sarah Evans.

If you have yet to see the movie, get up now and go get it. If you've already seen the movie, then you already know how good the soundtrack is.
