Book Description

March 22, 2004
The ClayMate Handbook is a witty look into the lives of the fans who have helped make Clay Aiken a pop phenomenon. This book is a must-have for every Claymate as well as the family and friends of the sometimes hard to understand, but always dedicated, Claymate. Some of the book's highlights are: the history of the Claymate, a complete overview of the main message boards dedicated to Clay Aiken, quizzes, top ten lists, a how-to guide to "Clayvert"-converting people to Clay Aiken's music, and recaps from last summer's American Idol tour. The ClayMate Handbook is the ultimate guide for Claymates written by Claymates.

About the Author

Nicmike is a self-professed nerd and high school English teacher from the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, where she drives her two children in a minivan she has grown to despise. Along with being a Claymate, she likes to write non-Clay Aiken based poetry and essays. Her favorite Clay Aiken songs are "Run to Me" and "Not Supposed to Love You Anymore."

Claytripper resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, son and daughter. A former middle school teacher, she now homeschools her children. She enjoys traveling, running and photography. She was first drawn to Clay Aiken for his incredible voice and remains a devoted fan for his kind, generous heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hysterical and Very True!, April 19, 2004
By

This review is from: The ClayMate Handbook (Paperback)
When I first heard of this book, I thought I have got to get one! I did, I actually got 2! One for myself and another for my daughter who is also a ClayMate Fan. I think this is a must have for anyone's ClayMate collection. The one thing about this particular book I really liked is the way the Chapters are separated. The book takes you back to Clay's first Audition on AI2, and ends with a wonderful recap of the 2004 Tour. There are very unique and interesting quiz's, and also included are web-sites to the lucritive cyber-space of the ClayNation! The ClayMate book also offers many tips for newcomers of the ClayNation AND also Top Ten's ranging from learned behaviors; sayings and a top-ten hint for those than want to hide their Clay addiction! The Appendix and the Glossary offer a wonderful over-view of every term in the Clay dictionary that is frequently used, and it's meaning. It is clear to me that Nicmike and Claytripper have nailed us to a Tee! All I can offer as advice is: If you think you are a ClayMate, You need to sign up, honey! As Clay says, and with this book, you will have all the know-how of how to do this, and where to begin. This is a really great little gift to us all, I have read this over and over, and each time, I laugh and laugh! I LOVE IT! ~~PJ

First and foremost, I would like to thank Nicmike and Claytripper, for writing this wonderful book for all the Claymates. BRAVO!!!

I LOVED "The Claymate Handbook" IT TO PIECES... It makes you laugh, it's extremely witty, and most of all it makes you think of CLAY!!!

This is a must have for all the Claymates who love Clay Aiken.
It has a chapter dedicated to all the major Clay Fan Sites. It tells you how to Clayvert your friends and family. There are concert recaps from the American Idol 2 Tour. A biography on Clay and much, much more!!!

NOW..... you've heard my recap of the "The Claymate Handbook" and I would so recommend you all to go purchase at least 1 copy TODAY... It breaks down all the information you would love to know about being a Claymate!! Also, half of the profits will be donated to a Children's Charity. (Believe that is still ago with the Charity.) We all know that is what Clay would want. Give a little and enjoy alot... this well written, hilarious look into the lives of all of us......Clay's Claymates!!!

Spread your Angel wings, buy a copy for yourself and a friend, and if you want to Clayvert someone.. this book is such a helpful guide... for every Clay fan at HEART!!!

Thank you so very much,
A Very Impressed Claymate!!!
