I purchased this software, Claymation Studio V2.0 for my 11 year old son and it was a hit. Easy to use for the kids and they have a ball. Take pictures one at a time with a touch of a button. Add sound when ever you want. One recommendation is to purchase a high quality web cam. The first web cam I purchased was too low quality and produced a grainy picture. So off to the store to purchase a better quality one. I ended up with the Microsoft H5D-00001. 5 Megapixel. 720p HD widescreen captures true HD quality video at up to 30 fps. Auto Focus so images stay sharp and detailed even during close-ups. This web cam did the trick. I thought I could use my digital camera or even a video camera for the input. It turns out the only type of camera or video that will function needS to be capable of streaming video. So plan on purchasing a web cam.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SOFTWARE, ESPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN.

This works great. I bought this software along with the Ucreate Games & Artimation(a mounted USB Camera over a small platform). My 2 year old, 4 year old and 6 year old kids have made so many videos without adult help and can use the basic funtionality of the Claymation Studio software without issues. The funniest videos are made by my 2 year old...if she can use it, anyone can. :-) We are using Vista Home.

This is a nice program, but will not work with either of our cannon cameras. It claims to work with most cameras, but we had no success. We had to buy a webcam to use with it.

Great program. Much better than the first edition. The program is easy to learn. If a problem occurs, the technical help department is the best that I have ever used and help comes quickly.

The user manual is well written and is easy to understand. In summary, I love this program!!!

I purchased this as a Christmas gift, & was disappointed to find out that it didn't work with either of the recipient's Canon cameras & didn't work with his video camera either. However, one of the reviewers said that this program will work with Microsoft LifeCam Cinema. So I bought this webcam for the young man's birthday gift. He says it's a fantastic webcam & yes, it really does work with Claymation Studio V2.0. He loves the Claymation Studio V2 program and said it's easy & fun to use. I can't wait to see what he creates with it.

I love it! very simple & easy to use and doesn't eat up much computing power. My kids are using it on an slow, old laptop & it works fine. We have a MS web-cam from wally-world & it recognizes it with no problems, also recognizes the microphone. I don't know what trouble others have had, but you are supposed to have the camera plugged in & ready before you launch the program.
Your camera needs to be able to feed a live image to the computer like a web-cam does, this software can't make your camera do that if it isn't designed to, so a typical digital still camera won't work.
You won't be able to get Hollywood quality movies, but it is inexpensive, fun, & easy to use.

Claymation Studio V2.0

This is a solid, easy an stable piece of software. Works flawlessly with all my sony cameras ( point and shot, dsrls, camcorders, etc ) on any of the PC`s OS: XP and Vista 32/64.

We bought this for our grandson for Christmas. His dad and I downloaded and played with it a while first. Great fun. Our grnadson has no problem understanding how to use it.

This software is very easy to learn, but i have one problem with it. It only will take a web camera so if you buy this software make sure you have a web camera. it is for a good price and is very good. it can go from 1 picture per second to 30 picture per second (counted by fives)overall very nice.

We own a half dozen digital cameras, two Flips, a DV camcorder and two computers with built-in web cams. This program will no recognize any of these. For two days, I have tried everything, installed it three times, added a firewire card, and always: Capture Device Not Found.

To be clear to everyone: the program can't work with digital still cameras or Flips. I don't know why it won't recognize our other options. Without a connected camera, this application is no more useful than the windows movie maker that came with your computer. You can't do any of the things mentioned -- chromakey, onion skinning, etc. I would also add that fully 50% of the times i have started this program, it crashed and had to close (i so wanted claymation to work for my 11-year old, i would have ignored this if i could have ever gotten it to recognize a camera!)

I'm honestly amazed that anyone has ever gotten this program to work. I feel like calling the person who gave it three stars and congratulating them. At least i can warn others: Don't buy this program, unless you need a $40 coaster.
