This is not your father's Jazz. Certifide Y2K Ready!,

This is raw fusion up front and clean. Not for wimpy stereo systems or weak leases. If there is anything on your speakers take it off before playing any of this! Cooked up with lots of West Coast flavor this cd is true ear candy! Vince Guardaldi, Carlos Santana and the Beatles are some of the flavors you'll find here mixed up with maxium funk. If you haven't been funked up in a while this is the fix you are looking for.

Today's music needs more of this,

Going on a recommendation from a friend, and being a bit sceptical, I'm glad I bought this album! Since beingblasted into the techno-pop world by my younger sisters "boy band" craze, Clazz was like having fresh ears installed on my head. This music is always evolving and the beat and melodies meld together with VERY pleasing results. The disc has a permanent place in my car CD changer and gets the grey matter working when everything else slows to a snails pace (ie. traffic). All the tunes are great, but my personal favorites would be Bill the Cat, Medium Rare, Clazz and Finale. My mom is a classical pianist and when I played Clazz for her, she mentioned that more music like this should make it to the radio and give people something intelligent to "get into" instead of the typical pop, dare I say "boy band" music that dominates the air (sis won't like that!). Any and all jazz listeners would appreciate Clazz. Did I mention variety? I recommend it highly!

Corea and Grusin meet Bach,

I guess Clazz means clasical and jazz. A very captivating mix of influences (you can hear a bit of everybody in this). No two tracks sound anything alike...real diversity that always has a hint of classical. The horn tunes are killer and the ballads (only 2) are extremely listenable without being too predictable. I wouldn't call this the fusion of Miles in the sixties but it's definetly NOT the smooth jazz thing either! There are obviously a couple of tracks geared for the radio friendly scene but even they have something to say that warrants multiple listenings.
