I dealt with acne problems for many years, went through countless acne-fighting products. I've used all the face washes (salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide), used the astringents and spot-treatments, and tried the natural stuff. I've found this to be the most effective product for me. I use it once a day as face scrub in the morning, and at night I use a mild cleanser. I've been using this for about 2 years now, and have been acne-free the whole time. Definitely use a lotion afterwards though, because this will dry out your skin. And use white face towels, because this will bleach the color out of anything else.

I've fought with acne for about 14 years. As typical it was far worse in my teen years but it's never been non-existant.
As a result of my long term fight I've used dozens of different creams, lotions, washes, foams, bars...
This product is definately at the top of the list of things I've used. It's not over drying like some other products. While I thought that very dry might be good as oil seems to be the problem, drying tends to cause more problems than benefits. This cleans well without drying.
It's very thick. It has the consistency of vegetable shortining or cream cheese. Where most creams are thin like soaps tend to be, this could be compared to a cold cream or noxema's traditional cream.
There's a strong tingling that comes with using this. The product suggests it is the 'deep cleaning' - I'd argue it's menthol or something similar to suggest deep cleaning. When they say on the label "don't use near eyes" take heed. Whatever makes it tingle will spread to your eyes if you wash too close and it's not pleasant. Its never burned or be unbearable but for about 20 minutes after use too close to the eyes you'll be aware you just washed your face.
I'm not sure I buy the suggestion that "it deposits benzoyl peroxide in your pores" but it has kept all but one significant blemish off my face for about 6 weeks now. Even that one blemish I could blame on my lack of attention to regular cleansing.
It's certainly good stuff. I definately recommend it but don't buy all the advertising pitches. It works but it's only as well as your cleaning habits.

Over the past 7 years I've tried nearly every facewash, and this is the only one that NEVER makes me break out ever. It doesn't take away all the oil like some other facewash does, but I think that's part of why it works. It NEVER dries your skin out by removing too much oil. It also has the strongest concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide I've seen in an onver the counter product (10%). This does wonders for me and if this product ever went away I'd be screwed. The only thing I don't like about it is that it can be expensive in stores, and you can run out of it quick if you don't ration it correctly. Even though it's a cream that doesn't spread that well, you don't need very much for it to be effective. It's still worth spending the extra money (even for a cheap/poor college student such as myself) because of how well it works.

I am very familiar with BP, I use to go to the dermatologist all the time. While dermatologist do a great job, the prescriptions are very costly, even with health insurance. I've had acne since a teen, at the age of 25, i still struggle with it. Ok so there is no permanent way to get rid of acne, because of hormones, but you can have clear skin and keep it, aslong as you don't stop treating it. so every time that I would go to the dermatologist, they took a look, and found the perfect perscriptions for me. So of course i would read the label, ingredients, etc.... so i know they use, the following: BP cleanser, at first itdried out my skin, so my doctor told me to mix it with a mild cleanser like Cetaphil, and only use the BP cleanser once a day; clindamacin in the morning; adapalene at night. So wash your face 2x a day, one time with the BP cleanser and one time with a mild cleanser, after washing apply clindamacyn in the morning and adapalene at night, then don't forget to apply moisteriser with SPF in the morning and a non comodogenic one at night. This is how I achieve clear skin, without breaking the bank.

I switched to this from my normal tea tree oil cleanser because my current cleanser wasn't totally clearing my stubborn whiteheads and blackheads. I have been prone to cystic acne my whole adulthood, but nowadays I typically only get a cystic pimple once every few months. Within the 4 weeks that I gave this a try it cleared my little spots here and there but seemed to cause any small whitehead that popped up to turn into a full blown, compacted, painful cyst. I've gotten more cysts this month than I have in the past year and this cleanser has been the only change I've made to my skin routine so I have to attribute my current skin condition to this. Shame :(

Long story short I don't think the active ingredient in the cleanser was the problem but rather the fragrance and other factors used to make the wash. Sensitive skins beware!
