I dealt with acne problems for many years, went through countless acne-fighting products. I've used all the face washes (salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide), used the astringents and spot-treatments, and tried the natural stuff. I've found this to be the most effective product for me. I use it once a day as face scrub in the morning, and at night I use a mild cleanser. I've been using this for about 2 years now, and have been acne-free the whole time. Definitely use a lotion afterwards though, because this will dry out your skin. And use white face towels, because this will bleach the color out of anything else.

I've fought with acne for about 14 years. As typical it was far worse in my teen years but it's never been non-existant.
As a result of my long term fight I've used dozens of different creams, lotions, washes, foams, bars...
This product is definately at the top of the list of things I've used. It's not over drying like some other products. While I thought that very dry might be good as oil seems to be the problem, drying tends to cause more problems than benefits. This cleans well without drying.
It's very thick. It has the consistency of vegetable shortining or cream cheese. Where most creams are thin like soaps tend to be, this could be compared to a cold cream or noxema's traditional cream.
There's a strong tingling that comes with using this. The product suggests it is the 'deep cleaning' - I'd argue it's menthol or something similar to suggest deep cleaning. When they say on the label "don't use near eyes" take heed. Whatever makes it tingle will spread to your eyes if you wash too close and it's not pleasant. Its never burned or be unbearable but for about 20 minutes after use too close to the eyes you'll be aware you just washed your face.
I'm not sure I buy the suggestion that "it deposits benzoyl peroxide in your pores" but it has kept all but one significant blemish off my face for about 6 weeks now. Even that one blemish I could blame on my lack of attention to regular cleansing.
It's certainly good stuff. I definately recommend it but don't buy all the advertising pitches. It works but it's only as well as your cleaning habits.

I would say I I'd give it 4-stars, but the bleaching of all my new towels keeps me from it. Please remember to use color safe towels after using this product. The continuous part of this stuff is a peroxide laden residue left on hands and face that keep working. It will leave blotchy hand prints on fabrics that appear like ghostly hand prints over the course of a few hours. I gave the directions a glance and didn't see where is says to be careful if when using dyed fabrics. It should be in BOLD or under its own header like... "Caution: This product murders colored towels". I guess I should have known peroxide bleaches. I'd seen someone bleach their hair using hydrogen peroxide and baking soda once. I just didn't put 2+2 together till I was two towels down. Oh well, bye, bye new and fancy towels I just bought off Amazon. Other than that, Clean & Clear works fine. Please excuse me now while I go confess to my other half how I ruined the new towels.

I have constant issues with breakouts. I have been using this product for a few months now and it is one of the few products I have found that continue to limit breakouts over a sufficient period of time. I will admit this product definitely makes your face tingle; but I figure that is how I know it is working to control the acne. I only use this product once daily and I am impressed by the only slight amount of breakouts which have occurred since I started using the face wash. The smell is also mildly present (not overwhelming or disgusting) and only occasionally slightly dries out my skin (easily fixed with a moisturizer). The only down side to this product is that however limited it did tighten my pores, I still have blackheads. However, since the product did not expressly state it would limit/remove blackheads, I certainly won't hold it against this face wash. This product works very well in tandem with other good hygiene. If you want to start clearing up your skin, I would highly recommend trying this product.

I began using the Clean and Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser one week ago today. I used it once per day, and since I suffer from rather inflammatory acne, worked up to twice a day by the 5th day. Today, while grocery shopping, I was actually told by a stranger my skin looks like porcelain! What a HUGE compliment! I have struggled with acne for 15 or so years, even being treated by several dermatologists, to no avail. I picked this up on clearance at Target since I didn't have anything to lose (besides the acne.) I could tell a big difference after one use, and my skin is nearly flawless a week later. Also, this has helped to tighten my pores tremendously, and gets rid of blackheads very quickly. I recommend this for acne sufferers to at least TRY, the most you have to lose is your acne and about $4 (non-clearance price in my area.) I'm not sure of the long-term effect of this product, but I will continue to use this product for a while, and will follow-up with another review later.
