3.0 out of 5 stars Great motivation, OK recipes November 8, 2010
Subscription Term Name:1 year
Despite giving this magazine only three stars, I will say that I end up buying/subscribing often...the exercise ideas, the short 'tip'-type stories, and the simple recipes are all great motivation and inspiration. But, as a fairly experienced amateur baker and cook, I find many of the recipes fall short (either instructions are incomplete or inaccurate, or the quantities are a bit off, or the end product looks ridiculously different from the photos). I can really only remember one baking failure on my own part with any other cookbook or magazine recipe, but everything I've tried from the magazine has had at least one problem. And while the simple, straight forward cooking recipes I've tried from the magazine have come out well, the more complex recipes have not (or I have had to significantly fill in the blanks of the instructions, as they failed to explain how to do some steps). So if you are not experienced in the kitchen, I highly recommend sticking to the simple stuff or finding a different source for recipes. The magazine has good quality photos and fitness advice, and is well laid out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love/Hate Relationship December 8, 2010
Subscription Term Name:1 year
I've subscribed to this magazine for over a year and recently renewed for two years. Every issue is full of tips on eating healthy, new foods to try, etc. But I agree with the other reviewer on the recipes...they are SO hit and miss. For every one I make that works (my favorite was a cookie made from almond butter, succanat and chocolate--that's it) there are three others that come out very bland--and I've been on a reduced sodium diet for several years. But I do enjoy getting ideas on how to eat better, so I continue reading.

2.0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY IT HERE! July 24, 2012
By J. S.
Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
All I can say is don't buy this here! You can visit the Magazine's Website by goggling the Clean Eating Magazine. Here you will have the opportunity to request TWO free copies and then have the choice to purchase or cancel your order. If you want to continue it is only $14.99 for the year!

5.0 out of 5 stars favorite magazine for cooking March 8, 2011
By J~
Subscription Term Name:1 year
I really like this magazine and signed up for a subscription. I subscribed to Clean Eating and Eating Well. Clean Eating is by far my favorite.

Pros

Lots of recipes-sometimes w/ themes and often based on what is in season-not a lot of articles and ads

Includes meal planner and weekly recipes for the busy adult that are cost friendly

Easy to season if you need a little more flavor then what the recipe calls for

I feel like I'm eating healthy

The ingredients are items easy to find in the store and easy to make on a week night

Focuses on eating organic if possible and often includes smoothies

Includes desserts and sweet treats and the calories. The last page normally has a non-dairy dessert

Recipes for munchies, appetizers, and drinks are often included in the issues.

Also, the magazine is bound together, not just stapled so you can store and use the magazine time after time w/o it falling apart.

Cons- none!

Tosca Reno is inspirational, and one can feel her prescence in this periodical. They are starting to introduce gluten free, which shows they listen to their readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE! Publisher out of business. June 17, 2013
Subscription Term Name:1 year
BUYER BEWARE!! The publisher (Canusa) officially went out business on June 7, 2013. On the Clean Eating magazine website, you can no longer subscribe to this publication. It's a great magazine -- I hope it comes back under a different publisher.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE Clean Eating August 17, 2011
Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
This is one of my very favorite magazines! I picked up a copy at Whole Foods almost a year ago, and now I look forward to receiving it. We've made many of the recipes from every issue. The ingredients are fairly easy to track down and recipes easy to follow. We love them so much that we bought the cookbook as well. Highly recommend this to anyone (even if you're not a strict follower of clean eating). Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it August 2, 2011
Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
Each issue is like a whole cookbook- complete with two week menu plans with shopping lists and even a 'budget-friendly' meal plan. One note of caution: the portion sizes tend to be very small, usually if it says it serves 4, it will serve two plus maybe a little left over for lunch the next day. But I enjoy reading all of it and find it very useful and worth the money.
