5.0 out of 5 stars They do their job
These pads do their job, yet you can do pretty much the same thing with any scouring pad...if you're washing scuffs & marks off the walls. They're good if you're removing tough grease & splatters from sauces & other liquid foods, which have dried onto the walls & cabinet doors.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works well but doesn't hold up
These sponges work wonderfully, cleaning marks I thought I could never get off the walls. However, they only last about 10 minutes apiece (I used the "original" version vs. the heavy duty), and they break apart into very small sponge fragments. This is a problem, since I have a toddler who still puts things in his mouth. This would also be a problem for people with...

These pads do their job, yet you can do pretty much the same thing with any scouring pad...if you're washing scuffs & marks off the walls. They're good if you're removing tough grease & splatters from sauces & other liquid foods, which have dried onto the walls & cabinet doors.

The pads shrink quite fast, and aren't as "reusable" as I thought. 1 pad should be sufficient for at least an hour of cleaning...perhaps less. The pads start out like stiff, white sponges and as you use them, they shrink & turn the color of whatever has been cleaned.

As i didn't have the time to wait for the pads to arrive in the mail, i bought them from Home Depot instead. They come 4 in a box and are conveniently stored in the box til I need them. Here are a few features:

- Don't use pads on skin (may cause abrasions)
- Don't use with bleach
- Not recommended for use with cleansers (powder or cream)
- Rub gently, as the pad tears rather easily with pressure
- Pads are made in Germany
- Pads shrink to 1/4 their original size, perhaps more (depends on length of usage)

For the price I paid, the pads live up to their name and I trust Mr.Clean brand for all my cleaning products. The pads work just as well as SCOTCH-BRITE scouring pads...if not better. Try a box of Magic Eraser for yourself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Be Very Careful!, February 16, 2009
This review is from: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Disposable Pads, 4 Cleaning Pads per Box PGT43516 (Office Product)
The Magic Eraser should be reserved for scuffs and grease that nothing else will remove. The eraser leaves dull spots on semi-gloss painted surfaces, and walls painted with flat latex have slight sheen where I used the eraser. Maybe I used too much pressure. Use this very sparingly on painted surfaces. It works really well, however, on sticky, greasy kitchen appliance surfaces, and textured plastic surfaces.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for removing difficult scuff marks and wear dirt, August 12, 2008

This review is from: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Disposable Pads, 4 Cleaning Pads per Box PGT43516 (Office Product)
These did an AMAZING job of removing scuff marks as well as years of residual, ground-in greyness from vinyl floor covering--like nothing I've ever seen. (I was trying to leave a rented home in tip-top cleanliness, and these really did the trick!)

How do they work? Well, you just wet them and rub.

Yes, the "erasers" do wear out after a while, though mine lasted a lot longer than the 5 minutes reported by one reviewer. Think of them as a consumable, like a specialty spray cleaner you would buy for the really stubborn applications and spot-cleaning. Use a less expensive solution for normal, day-to-day cleaning.

I do disagree with the reviewer who says these do what a scouring pad does. The ground-in dirt film and scuffs which I removed from my vinyl floor wouldn't have come off with a scouring pad. Also, scouring pads can easily leave scratches on many surfaces.

The Magic Erasers appear to use micro-abrasives which act similar to the abrasives in silver polish--small enough to work in and and loosen extremely fine ground-in dirt particles, but too small to leave visible scratches. Of course, there no sticky residue to wipe away such as with polishing cremes. The water in the process tends to lift and carry away the micro-abrasives and dirt, and this is cleanly wiped up in the process.

5.0 out of 5 stars Removes those ibook / macbook palmrest stains that just won't go, July 27, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Disposable Pads, 4 Cleaning Pads per Box PGT43516 (Office Product)
I had almost given up on the stains on my iBook G4's palmrest. The cleaning products that did a good job on my Tangerine iBook G3 and my brother's dual-usb iBook G3, did nothing to those horrible stains. These stains made my iBook look really dirty - also embarrassing in public. I did some research on the web finding a lot of iBook and MacBook users in the same situation. There were many recommendations, but the Magic Eraser seemed like the most sensible.
Mr Clean's Magic eraser solved the problem in seconds. I only needed one fourth of one of the pads to do the job, added a little water, rubbed a few times while drying with a clothe so the water wouldn't leak in and the stains were gone!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but worth it, September 7, 2009
It works terrifically on marks on the white wall caused by my scooter. This was the first time I purchased it on-line. The shipping & handling cost more than one box cost and I ordered 3 boxes - didn't get the free shipping advertised. But still think this is a great product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works where nothing else will, December 24, 2008

True, it does get used up pretty fast and winds up being a little expensive, but on some stains/soils it really does seem like magic. I tried just about every wonderful, fabulous, extra strength, use only in adequate ventilation, wear gloves, chemical available in the store and nothing would remove stains in my bath tub. Magic Eraser does. Hallelujah!

4.0 out of 5 stars Do you Believe in Magic?, September 9, 2008
This review is from: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Disposable Pads, 4 Cleaning Pads per Box PGT43516 (Office Product)
Find me a person who has used this little sponge-like tool and doesn't love it and you have found a crazy person!

Basically, this little cleaning pad works well for just about everything as die-hard fans will surely attest. The box advertises a bunch of places you might try the Mr Clean Magic Eraser pads including "ranges, refrigerators, plastic patio furniture, floor tile grout, athletic shoe soles, scuff marks and dirt from walls, floors and doors" and you can even use it to break "up tough bathroom soap scum."

It works well for scuffs and smudges on floors and walls. I used it around the plug ins and light switches where finger and hand prints show up. If you have furniture against a wall, this will work well to get rid of any smudges; I cleaned off the marks from our bedroom door handle on the wall.

If you have kids, crayons and the like on the wall will be a breeze to clean off. Your bathroom will sparkle like new if you use it on your tub, tile and porcelain surfaces.

There is a mop, too! If your messes are extra stubborn, you can try the Extra Power cleaning pads ; although the original will probably do the trick. You can also try the Magic Eraser Duo which has 2 sides, one to penetrate surface grooves and the other to wipe up everyday messes.

And the best thing is, there's no clean up. Wet the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Pad so that it's damp and scrub away. The dampness creates a bit of a chalky consistancy and the pad is scrubbed away as you use it so you use it all the way (or most of the way) up and there's nothing to throw away!

If you haven't used Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Foaming Cleaner Cleaning Pads, you're missing out!

5.0 out of 5 stars It really is magic!, February 12, 2007
Can't even believe that this works!
My son got into our Mercedes with a big plastig bag containing his latest science project. He wrote his name on it with a big black permanant marker and plopped it on the seat beside him. When he got out of the car my pearl grey leather seats were covered with black marker ink. Try as I might, I scrubbed with sponges and everything I could think of... but nothing worked. I went online and googled leather cleaner and saw that several people had recomended the Mr.Clean Eraser. I tried it, and IT WORKED! I'm not sure what it is that makes it happen.... As you're using the sponge-thingy, it disintegrates and eventually you use it up... but I was so excited that I saved my seats that I ran around and tried it on other stuff (old pocketbooks with ink marks, patent leather shoes with scuff marks, the water mark around the vinyl pool liner, etc...)just amazing! I would do free commercials for this product! They are pricey, but I must say that they are worth every cent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome product...., May 6, 2006
I bought some of these thinking that they probably wouldn't work. But,I am a clean freak and had to try them.To my surprise, they worked wonderfully. They are literally like erasers. All you do is wet, ring out, scrub, and wipe residue away with the blue side. They also last a long time , so you should try them.
