From losing weight, fighting off illness and clearing your home to overcoming anxiety, phobias and old traumas, from daily life to spiritual crisis to psychic attack, there are over 100 meditations, exercises and exorcisms that can be used or adapted to clarify, conquer and resolve the issues and problems that challenge, vex and entangle us. Equally accessable to the beginner and inspirational to the advanced reader, this wonderful book distills an enormous amount of cross-cultural information into a treasurehouse of wisdom on what may well be the first important step toward transforming every aspect of living. Very highly recomended!

This is an extremely useful book. I understand now that banishing encompasses far more than "casting a circle" or chasing away poltergeists. Sargent extends the concept to ALL areas of life, and offers simple yet effective ways to shed the barriers to happiness and health. It's really about taking charge, and not being a victim. Humans have free will, and the power to choose what will and will not be a part of their lives. So, really, this book is about empowerment.

I have a friend who complained recently that he felt a strong need to prioritize, reorganize, and focus his life. I got this book in the mail to him the next day. I'm sure it won't be the last time I do that -- it is a powerful tool that I am eager to share with others. It helped me immensely at a time when I was foundering and overwhelmed, and I'm sure it will do the same for many others.

Yes, Clean Sweep will help you order and organize your life. NO, it's not just a closet organizing manual. Only the most closed-minded will fail to note the deep respect with which the author incorporates eons of wide-ranging religious and cultural traditions into practical, helpful invitations and rituals. Clean Sweep is a good read. Use or don't use the "recipies" contained in the book, you will still get benefit from the ideas. It is written with great humor and wisdom and contains many worthwhile "ah ha!" moments for all readers. Every counselor, therapist, every person with too much "stuff," everyone who sometimes feels "stuck," and everyone trying to help someone who feels "stuck" should consult this how-to manual for "clean living." Everyone who wants to enjoy optimum living and who believes in taking responsibility for making it happen should read this book.

Simple, metaphysical, practical. I don't usually like ritual, but this just makes sense. I highly recommend it.

I don't like clutter in my house or in my life! This book gives rise to very effective ways of dealing with and clearing out the clutter. It's a guide book for the ultimate spring cleaning!

Please do not order this if you are looking for a good organizational book and have traditional Christian values... it was way too "new age" and "mystical" for me... returned it immediately... guess I didn't read enough of the reviews to properly know what to expect... Hope this keeps some of you from making the same mistake...

Would suggest that perhaps you check out these two books as alternatives to this one: Eliminate Chaos: The 10-Step Process to Organize Your Home and Life and Houseworks: Cut the Clutter, Speed Your Cleaning and Calm the Chaos

This book may be good as a lexicon for rituals. A bit repetetive and not explaning enough of the rituals to really catch ones interest though.
