About the Author

Roger Priddy left school at 16 with just one qualification—in art. He went to Berkshire College of Art and Design and trained as an illustrator. His first job in children’s books was working with the publisher Peter Usborne, at Usborne Publishing, and then he worked with Peter Kindersley at Dorling Kindersley, where he spent 16 years. Priddy became Creative Director of DK’s Children’s Division and was Managing Director of the children’s mass market publisher Funfax when it was acquired by DK.

In 2000, he created Priddy Books with John Sargent at St Martin’s Press to create innovative and imaginative titles for children, from first books for babies through early reference titles for older children. Since then, over 30 million copies of Roger's 200 plus books have sold worldwide, with five of his books—My Big Animal, My Big Truck, Happy Baby Words, Happy Baby Colors and Puppy and Friends—each selling over one million copies. He is also the author of Big Board First 100 Words; Big Board Books Colors, ABC, Numbers; and Bright Baby Noisy Monsters. His creativity has been recognized with numerous industry awards. Priddy lives in London with his wife Zena and their four children.

My 3 year old LOVES this tracing book!

The ink on the pen that comes with it wipes off very easy with a dry or damp paper towel, so you can you it over and over.

I love seeing my kids excited about learning.

We've been using multiple books in these series since Pre-school, and they are a godsend. The only complaint (like others) is the pen. The wipe on/off dry erase CRAYONS (Crayola-about $4 here or at Wal-Mart) are working the best...and Junior can handle those much more easily because they aren't as slippery on the page so they offer more control as well. Realizing these books are a bit more expensive, I have to say...if you can, spend the extra couple of dollars it's really worth being able to: a) keep this stuff all in one place within these great spiral-bound books; b)the content is exactly what your child is ready for and needs to supplement his school curriculum at home; c)Dry-Erase offers the convenience of being able to wipe-off and go over and over as many times as you want/need to offer consistency AND you're not wasting paper! (Did I mention, his Kindergarten teacher was very impressed at parent-teacher conferences?) Highly recommend any of this series.

I think this book is fantastic for any young child, whether just starting to write or working on their pen control. I remember doing books like this when I was young, and when I saw this I bought this for the 3 1/2 year old I nanny. I think this book is perfect for his age, and will "grow" with him for a while. I like that there are a variety of pages in the book; it starts with just tracing lines, goes to shapes, then a little more complex pictures (a teddy bear, drum, etc) and the last few pages are whole (simple) scenes with a blank page in the back to draw whatever you like. This book is great because your child can just draw on it if he isn't at the point of tracing and work his way up to it. Of course the fact that you can erase and do it over and over is very appealing. The only negative is it only comes with one black pen which may not be as much fun for younger children, but it is very easy to buy more markers, and they even make dry erase crayons now! (Any dry erase crayons or markers appear to work. I noticed the red crayon doesn't come off as easily, but a little water or even windex works great to get the traces off)

This is a great book for kids to practice pen control and learning to write. The best part is that they can use it over and over verses paper page books that are one time use. My 3 1/2 year old daughter is working on it daily with the babysitter while I work. Seems like she enjoys it.

My 3.5 yo loves this book! It's a fun way to practice pen control, and we make wiping off the pen marks part of the game. As long as you wipe off the marks before you put the book away for the day it's easy - but the longer they sit the more you have to scrub to get it off. The only downsides is that she often gets the pen on her clothes and/or table, but that's not the fault of the product.

We love this book. Our 3 year old practices in it quite often. It's her version of homework so she can be like her big sister. We use the washable crayola dry erase markers and they work just fine. Plus you get more colors. Our little one has a tendency to write on other things besides the book sometimes so washable is a must for us. She uses either a white board eraser or paper towel to wipe the marks off. The paper towel actually works the best. Occasionally I'll wet it to get any left over marker residue off. Overall this is a great book with varying levels of difficulty. (From straight lines, to octagons, to animal shapes) I have noticed a big improvement in her ability since we bought the book a few months ago. And she notices too which is even better.

This was a great purchase for my two children (ages almost 4 and 2). The book has great pictures and many things for the kids to begin practicing their writing/tracing skills. I know my 2 year old may be a bit young, but she really enjoys trying to trace objects. The pictures and colors are really nice. The book is spiral bound which is a big plus! The pages wipe off easily. A great way to begin preschool time at home!

This a great learning workbook for my 3 year old. My daughter loves it! I have seen tremendous improvement with her fine motor skills, tracing lines, and even writing her name. The ink on the pen that comes with it wipes off very easy with a dry or damp paper towel, so you can you it over and over. Money well spent - highly recommend!!!!!
