Terrible,

Ordered this item and their box spring encasement directly from the mfgr. No sooner after getting it out of the packagedid the arm on the zipper break-off trying to open it to put on to the mattress. Had better luck buying a mattress cover with about the same quality from a big box retail store for less than half what I paid for the Clean Rest brand.

My wife and I had a dust mite problem, or at least that it what we assumed it was. We kept waking up in the morning with bites, but we could never find any bugs. I tore the bed apart, vacuumed everywhere, sprayed every square inch of the bed and surrounding carpet with bed bug spray, but we were still waking up with bites and still couldn't find any bugs. After about a week of this and after realizing that the chemical treatment wasn't going to work, I went out and got dust mite covers for the box spring and mattress, and we got all new pillows and covered them with dust mite covers too. That solved the problem. Frankly I am a little surprised at the poor reviews this cover got. It worked fine for us. Admittedly, the first night it seemed like our pillow top mattress had become more stiff and less comfortable, but after a few days of using it we have become accustomed to it. Also, as one person mentioned, it is oversized and does wrinkle up under the sheets a bit. We tucked the excess under the mattress, but it worked itself loose. We are accustomed to those minor inconveniences now and have just accepted them as something we will have to live with if we don't want dust mite bites. I have read other reviews from mattress covers that were very difficult to put on, and didn't breathe very well so they felt hot. Neither of those things have been a problem for us with this mattress cover.I give it four stars instead of five because it did rob some of the comfort from our bed and they should have developed a better way to tuck up the excess, perhaps with velcro or something. I think that I will try duct taping the excess under the mattress or something. Side note: we were in something of a crisis when I bought this, so I didn't have time to order it through Amazon and save the money. We got ours and Bed Bath and Beyond, and paid substantially more for it.

There is no stretch in the fabric so unless your bed happens to be just the right thickness to fit this, it wont fit well. I used this simply because I didn't realize there were better products out there. Every night I slept on wrinkles because it was too baggy for my bed (and I have a memory foam bed which is pretty thick.) That is my biggest complaint. and because it goes under the fitted sheet, theres no way to pull the wrinkles out from under you so it just drove me crazy. It probably does its job keeping out allergens, but that's ALL it's good for. It took away a LOT of the comfort from my memory foam bed. The pad is not breathable, not padded, not stetchy and definitely not washer/dryer friendly. for a while I just cleaned it by wiping the top, but eventually I decided to try washing and drying it gently. (I dont know what the actual care instructions were because that tag ripped off.) Mine melted in the dryer and I'm actually glad it did because that prompted me to look at other options. Thankfully I found some. In the mean time I've been amazed at how much more comfortable my bed has been to sleep on now that I don't have that cover on the bed. oh yeah, and I almost forgot to mention that the zipper broke right off anyway when I was taking it off to wash it, so even if it hadnt melted in the dryer it already became pretty useless.
