If you do the cleanse, your life will change,
By Sarah Luciani (Phoenix, AZ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cleanse & Purify Thyself. Book One: The Cleanse (Paperback)
I was reading one review where it is stated that the book sounds like an infomercial for his cleanse products. In some ways it did sound like he was trying to sell his products. But the book was absolutely fascinating. The success stories amazing, and if you have an interest in natural health and cleansing the body this book is an excellent read. I found his spiritual references quite enjoyable.
Now here is where the great part comes in... I decided okay, I am going to try buying his herbal products. You don't have to buy the big expensive cleanse kit, you can buy an item called chompers, and herbal nutrition and get psyllium and liquid bentonite at your local health food stores. It really isn't that costly. I have never done such an effective cleanse in my life. I am still doing it, the gentle phase, and it is unbelievable. I read about this awful mucoid plaque and I never though that I would be one to "clean out" that way. Believe me, this plaque is real! I won't get into details, but this has never happened on any of those other cleanses I have tried. His cleanse works if you do it. Just reading the book is interesting too, if you decide not to do the cleanse.I HIGHLY recommend it!

An excellent book on the road to better health!,
By Rhonald A. Jackson (Washington, DC (USA)) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cleanse & Purify Thyself. Book One: The Cleanse (Paperback)
This book was lent to me, at a time when I am actively researching answers to optimal health. I gave this book a very good rating, even though there are few things I don't completely agree with. Since I am very open minded, I enjoy reading many books, and comparing to see which ones seem to make sense, and resonate with me.I have long known about the perils of treating "symptoms" as though they were a disease. Dis-ease is the end result of a cause, and symptoms are nature's warning signs, much like the oil or engine light in a car. Does one unscrew the bulb because they are tired of looking at the light? Every cause has an effect, and many times the effect shows up many years later. Based on what I know about Wellness, Dr. Anderson has done his homework. There is a great deal of critically important information here. The book is very frank, and is a "wake up" call to better health. Some parts will even bring a chuckle or two. It is not for the closed minded however, and/or, those who think there is nothing they can do about their challenges, and/or continue to rely on others to take control of [destroy?] their health. Is this book perfect? No, I don't believe any one source [human] can be perfect, as there are simply too many variables. The Creator is the only one who knows all. The religious references offer an interesting perspective, and will prompt one to do some investigating. His views on meat eating vs vegetarianism will do the same. Personally, I know that being a strict vegetarian did not work for me. The best parts of the book are the lengthy chapters on how our body is designed to work, and how what we put into it affects that process. In my opinion, if more people had a better understanding of basic anatomy, vs the desire to eat for taste, appearance, and advertised food trends, we would be empowered to make better decisions, and be in much better health. I intend to begin the cleanse on May 5, 2003, and I am looking forward to the results.

a must-read for anyone interested in being healthy,
By A Customer
This review is from: Cleanse & Purify Thyself. Book One: The Cleanse (Paperback)
This book should be compulsory reading for everyone. It explains why we are unhealthy and how to overcome or prevent illness. It is a deep book but easy to read and is backed up throughout by research and facts. It is shocking, surprising, revealing and thought provoking. It should also be compulsory reading for all who practise medicine. It is also a terrific back-up for raw-food vegans but he does not push this, merely reccomends it. He has developed a system for cleansing which he speaks about in the book, so not only does he provide the answers for health but the means for achieving it. Perfect health and the perfect body is posible, if you want radiant health and happiness, forget nasty medical procedures, plastic surgery, liposuction etc, BUY THIS BOOK instead.

Best Cleanse Program Out There!,
By Tanya (Tucson, AZ USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cleanse & Purify Thyself. Book One: The Cleanse (Paperback)
I went on Dr. Anderson's program about 7 years ago the first time and got rid of a bad case of acne, plus lost 10 lbs and felt great. I gave my excellent old book away to a friend who really needed it for his health. Last month I saw Dr. Anderson's updated book and bought it. It is a vast improvement on the last one -- color photos, testimonials from participants, etc. This book is well written as well as a fun read. It opens your eyes to how bad the typical U.S. diet really is. It really motivates you to clean your system out. I am currently in my second week of the cleanse and feel very energetic and positive, my lethargy and lack of motivation is gone. I am buying this book for my brother and sisters for their birthdays.

Bad: The book is a long info-mercial for his cleanse products. Very little that is in this book is not at his website. He also injects some strange pseudo-Christian beliefs into the book which may make some readers uncomfortable.Good: This book helped me better realize that I must take control of my own health. The modern medical establishment is not there for your health! Over the past few months, I have lost 15 pounds and feel much better. Was the book the key? Not entirely, but it did help in my learning process.

Cleanse yourself up with the cleanse!,

This review is from: Cleanse & Purify Thyself. Book One: The Cleanse (Paperback)
Dr. Anderson's approach gets down to the basics of how the human body works and makes it easy to understand why our bodies are so full of toxins and poisons. For the first time I really understand how things we consume, breathe, or absorb into our bodies affect things on a cellular level, and it's very shocking to realize all the damage we do to ourselves. Wake up and educate yourself! Although I didn't do his particular cleanse, I've done others, and it really makes a difference in how I feel, look, and live. This book is a must-have for anyone interested in making a difference in their health, or for anyone interested in holistic, natural lifestyles.

Beware of books that advertise,
By
This review is from: Cleanse & Purify Thyself. Book One: The Cleanse (Paperback)
I have been researching fasting, cleansing, and detoxification for a while now and ran across this book. From the site it sounded like the all exclusive answer to your cleansing questions... however, there is a huge flaw. It talks about two formulas to use in "the cleanse", and it doesn't give you those formulas... instead you have to go to the website that sells the products at a not so reasonable price. I was immediately disgusted with the fact that this is actually and book length ADVERTISEMENT, not a book. It may give you some great facts, but it is fluff for the sell of his products. Well, beware... there are much better books out there like Daniel Reid's "Tao of Health, Sex and Longevity" that cover the topic of cleansing and much more. Be wary of any book that withholds information for no good reason besides profit.

After 2 years of trying, THIS was the ANSWER!!!,
By
This review is from: Cleanse & Purify Thyself. Book One: The Cleanse (Paperback)
I have two versions of this book, a 1988 version which I liked a lot due to its simplicity (although a bit disorganized) and a 2007 revised copy, which in my opinion is too technical. It seems like he had to proved he knew his stuff on the last one.
In spite of that HIS PRODUCTS WORK! After my second pregnancy, I lost about 1/4 inch (diameter) of hair from my head, had white patches on my arms, red patches on my triceps, 30 extra pounds, well, I was a piece of work. I went to various Alternative Medicine doctors, to a Dermatologist, and spent large amounts of money on products that did not make me well. Finally, it came down to taking control over my own health. I started doing research on the internet, discovered Candidiasis (yeast infection - fungus in the digestive track), had to change my diet, took lots of Biotin (type of vitamin B) for my hair to grow back, overdosed myself on acidophilus - and while all this helped it truly wasn't the answer. During one very expensive visit to a Natural Doctor, she said that I "was full of bugs". It was very upsetting to hear because the stuff she was giving me was making me itch all over, it wasn't helping. So once again, took matters into my own hands and pulled the 1988 version of the book sitting on my shelf. I went all out and bought all his stuff. The Cleanse, you are not going to believe the stuff that comes out of you!!! After a while it becomes fun playing with your own s--- with a chopstick! (He recommends doing this so you can discover the mucoid plaque). I have never managed to do the Power Cleanse, just the gentle version, and still filthy mucosy crap comes out. I even use his Liver Formulas and I can tell you that I feel my liver has shrunk. If I start eating crappy again, I can feel my liver "enlarge". I've lost 10 lbs, red patches almost gone, 2 white patches left and I'm still working away the rest. NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING will work if the digestive track is dirty. I used to be 130 lbs before the kids, and I'm at 147 right now, so while overweight, I don't consider myself huge. I'm writing this just so you get an idea of how dirty the intestines can get even when I'm "only" 20 lbs overweight. But the trick is YOU have to stick to his program. Don't expect results if you don't do what he says. Hope this helps.

Fantastic Reading,

This review is from: Cleanse & Purify Thyself. Book One: The Cleanse (Paperback)
I loved this book. I actually read Richard Anderson's second book first by accident, so I had to get this book. He is very informative about why we need to cleanse and how to do it. It seems like he has one of the best, if not THE best, cleanse products on the market. Many people have had great success on his program. I just purchased one of his cleanse kits and am planning on trying it soon. His book, though, just makes you want to learn as much as possible and be as healthy as possible. Yes, he is selling a product, but the book is not like an advertisement or marketing tool. He gives you scientific data about our bodies. I highly recommend all of his books to anyone that has a desire to learn and become healthy.
