True he does list some of his own products, but I didn't view that as him advertising his stuff. I viewed it as someone who was passionate about their work and wanted to share and make their research available. This is a man who has seemed to have done his homework. Even if you don't do the cleanse that he recommends in the first book, this second book really just relates a lot of info about how digestion works, and what impedes it. I think anyone could learn a little something from reading it. All of his work is footnoted and documented. It's the type of book that you just kind of pick at. I don't think you would be dissapointed if you are looking to inspire your own personal health research.

I noticed that they have the editor listed and not the wonderful author of this book Dr. Richard Anderson. I hope they fix that so that people can easily locate this gem of a book.(on the Amazon website).
Of course I started with book one, and this is not just a repeat of book one, book one focuses much on the physical aspects of cleansing, this one gets a little more into the emotional aspects and is a little more in depth. People may be taken back by the advertising of his products, which he doesn't push heavily, but are mentioned. I will tell you that my life has been forever changed by the cleanse he recommends and his products. Yes I did buy them, I found a cheaper way to do it by buying my own bentonite and psyllium at the health food store and his two products called herbal nutrition and Chompers.(Yes the names are a bit odd) I have tried many different cleanses in my life, they didn't do much. This cleanse did several marvelous things for me. I am off a medication that I have been on for ten years, and doing fine. I cut another medication in half and am working on getting off that one. I have been fixed of a physical ailment I have suffered from my entire life. The cleanse wasn't easy. I went through many sick days and cleansing reactions, but I will say it was worth it, and this book a fascinating read is worth it!!

This is a great book as far as why it's important to cleanse yourself BUT the whole downfall to this book is that it does not give you any recipes for cleansing. It tells you all the herbs you should use but doesn't tell you the amounts, how long or details for the cleansing. There is no phone number or website or doesn't mention anywhere to purchase the cleansing kit it talks about. After long research, apparently Mr. Anderson has a company "Arise and Shine Herbal Products." Although the company offers various cleansing programs, I can't afford them. So after buying the book and getting excited about doing his mentioned cleanse, you have to search online for someone else who offers cleanses. I purchased the nine day cleansing kit from Blessed Herbs for approx. $100. I am on my eighth day of the cleanse and it has done everything it promised with an all liquid diet. I did the best option to get the full effect of the cleansing kit. It's an amazing experience and has definitely made me re-think my eating habits.

This book was recommeded to me, it sounded like it would be some good reading. I am NOT dissapointed it, it makes a lot of sense and I am enjoying it very much.

I bought this a very long time ago when a friend was on a wild kick to "get healthly." She still does this type of cleanse every year. Here the 2 down falls, you have to buy a totally separate package of all the items needed to do this (none are listed in the book with amounts) and you really have to be 100% totally committed, this is not something, short or easy to add to any every day life. My friend is a stay at home mom and still has unpleasant issues that she knows she has to be at home to deal with during her cleanse. Good Luck

If you're looking for instructions for how to cleanse your body, this is not the book for you. The author presents reason after reason for cleansing, but when it comes to providing details on what exactly to do, he says to refer to Book 1 (which is based on erroneous chemistry, so don't bother with that one either).

the book has notations every where and in every color... it was advertised as in good shape... it's the first time I get a book in a not so good condition. Dissapointed in that aspect... but the knowledge of the content is so great that I am forgiving the quality!
