Catastrophic, which features someone from obituary (one of my first death metal bands) lets call him t.peres, no no thats much too obvious trevor p. (there that will do) and pyrexia (if you don't know who this band is then don't listen to death metal) members. The cleansing is an absolute blast to listen to. From start to finish this cd kills. Trevor p sounds great and keiths vocals are simply punishing! My favorite thing about this cd is that there are NO filler songs on it, each song the perfect length and the songs get better as the cd progresses. The production on here is really clear and eberything is mixed really well. From neck snapping speed to brutal breakdowns catastrophic has all the basses covered. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

I got this cd at the local CDWarehouse where they were having a special that day, that if you bought 3 or more of their $8.99 already opened cds, the price of each would drop to 6.99 (2 bucks). I decided that I would look and see if I could find 3 good cds that I would want. They had a new copy of this album on the 'new' shelf, so I couldn't listen to it, or so I thought. What do you know, I was thumbing through the cds in th e black metal section when I found a used copy for 8.99. I listened to it, and discovered that it was very good. This cd reminds me at times of Sinister's technique. The drumming is interesting and creative, the guitars are great, the music writing is also very good. There are alot of diverse songs. Alot of times with many albums many songs sound the same, same drum pattern, etc. I didn't notice that too much on this album, which is very good. I have only gotten about 2/3ds of the way through though, so I haven't heard it all. I could go get it, but I want to finish it in the car on the way to college tomorrow. :-). But from what I've heard, if you like Sepultura or Sinister, or dm or bm, or whatever, you should like this band pretty well. The recording quality is very good (I'm picky about that sometimes). I recommend it for any metal fiend who likes pantera, sepultura, sinister, meshuggah, or similar. |
