Book Description

June 1984
A UFO conspiracy theory is any one of many conspiracy theories which argue that evidence of the reality of unidentified flying objects is being suppressed by the governments They argue that Earth governments, especially the Government of the US are in communication or cooperation with extraterrestrials, despite public claims to the contrary Elements may include the government's sinister operative from Men in Black, the military, Area 51, RAF Rudloe Manor or Porton Down, the crash site in Roswell, New Mexico, the Rendlesham Forest Incident, a political committee dubbed the "Majestic 12". The contention that there is a widespread cover-up of UFO information is not limited to the general public or UFO research community. For example, a 1971 survey of Industrial Research/Development magazine found that 76% felt the government was not revealing all it knew about UFOs, 54% thought UFOs definitely or probably existed, and 32% thought they came from outer space.[5] Notable persons to have publicly stated that UFO evidence is being suppressed include Senator Barry Goldwater, Admiral Lord Hill-Norton (former NATO head and chief of the British Defence Staff), Brigadier-General Arthur Exon (former commanding officer of Wright-Patterson AFB), Vice-Admiral Roscoe H. Hillenkoetter (first CIA director), astronauts Gordon Cooper and Edgar Mitchell, former Canadian Defence Minister Paul Hellyer, and the 1999 French COMETA report by various French generals and aerospace experts

5.0 out of 5 stars Does the Government Cover up UFO's?, December 12, 1999
By A Customer
This book contains direct information gleaned from an exhaustive search of the US Archives with corraborative testimony from eyewitnesses and insiders. I was originally loaned this book by a retired USAF Colonel who worked in Project Blue Book. He would tell me very little, but pointed me towards several books which he told me would give me "a pretty good picture of what's going on". The material in this book is well validated and is as far reaching as it is shocking. It is so revealing that I came away from it feeling that I always knew more about this subject than I had allowed myself to cognize. It does help one to see why our government keeps what they know a secret. Another equally revealing book that should be read as a companion volume is: "The Case for the UFO" By M.K.Jessup, I no longer remember how to get a copy of this. Interestingly, I was allowed to borrow a book which conclusively proved that M.K. Jessup was assasinated by someone after he refused an "Official" request not to publish book two of "The Case for the UFO" I believe the title was "The Mysterious Death of M.K. Jessup". (A ten year investigation went into this book. The detective also accidentally uncovered physical evidence of the "Philadelphia Experiment" which is also discussed in "Clear Intent".) I returned these books to him as he was adamant that aquiring copies was nearly impossible. If you are interested in this subject GET or read "Clear Intent".

4.0 out of 5 stars It Doesn't Get Much More Clear, May 1, 2008
This review is from: Clear Intent: The Government Coverup of the Ufo Experience (Hardcover)
A clear and concise exploration of the government's cover-up of the UFO phenomena. Together with a couple other fine works, this should give any researcher the foundation upon which to make a sound judgement about this conspiracy. I encourage people to read this book and decide for themselves.
