Product Description

This is no flimsy cookbook holder for sure! This jumbo-sized holder keeps magazines (even extra large cookbooks) upright, and adjusts to the proper angle for recipe reading. A clear, acrylic cover guard keeps the splatters off your pages, and hinges allow you to pull the guard forward for easy page turning. Once you've finished, it all folds flat for easy storage. The measurements are 15.75-in. x 12-in...

5.0 out of 5 stars Versatility, yes! February 15, 2006
By opiffle
This is the first holder that I've had that holds everything from a piece of paper to the thickest cookbook I have without falling over. Yet it folds up quite flat to be put away easily. This all means that I actually use it - a lot. Now if only I could read fine print from across the room!

4.0 out of 5 stars Acrylic clouds over time November 27, 2006
I have had this cookbook holder for several years. It is very versatile -- accomodating magazines, clippings, large cookbooks, etc. My only complaint is that over time the acrylic has clouded up where I needed to clean it with something other than water (it is, of course, in the "line of fire" when I'm cooking). Perhaps if I'd used a special acrylic cleaner, I could have avoided this.

This cookbook holder is the best yet. The easy fold down acrylic front makes turning the pages a snap plus it protects the pages from splatter and stains. The groves make it easy to accommodate books of all sizes. A wonderful product to own and to gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cookbook Holder very versatile March 9, 2007

This very nice looking cookbook holder will hold all sizes of cookbooks very securely. It allows you to easily turn the page without having to remove the book from the holder--just drop the front piece of plexi-glass.

4.0 out of 5 stars The PERFECT cookbook holder November 14, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase
This cookbook holder is absolutely the best. It has little rubber feet so the wood is not sitting in whatever water might be on your counter. It is very wide, so your cookbooks are not peeking out the edges and getting their pages dirty. The wood is really beautiful--some sort of cherry with a wonderful luster. I would recommend this to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT Cookbook Holder, absolutely LOVE it! February 7, 2010
By JavaJo
My first cookbook holder was a wrought iron style fold up holder that looked nice but it was very flimsy and was certainly not usable. I then found an acrylic holder that was very inexpensive and did a nice job holding most cookbooks, but not exactly appealing. It wasn't perfect but it worked. It kept my books upright and clean from the spatters and messes I tend to make when cooking. Then it fell with a heavy book in it and cracked. Time to find a new one. I was sure that I wanted to get another one like it, but thought I might look for something that was at least as functional while also looking a bit classier on my counter.

To find a new model I searched numerous kitchen stores and found surprisingly FEW options. Why would there be so few options and why would the few that were out there tip over so easily when a book was put in it? What is the point in designing a cookbook holder if it can't hold various sized cookbooks? After quite a bit of frustration and disappointment in the options available, I searched the internet for a model that would work and found this one recommended by Cook's Illustrated.

After seeing how this model would work I was excited to try it. The price was a bit higher than I wanted to pay since the previous acrylic holder was only $8. I was hopeful that it would be a quality item to last long in my kitchen and it has been. I've been using this model now for about 2-3 years and have been very pleased with it.

Great features found in this cookbook holder :

1. I love that books are completely (or nearly completely) covered due to a decent width.

2. The base is sturdy which knocks out nearly any other model out there.

3. There is a plastic piece that adjusts to various depths in the back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I had bought it sooner! August 12, 2007

This is the best cookbook holder I have ever used, accommodating thick books to thinner magazines. Its hardwood base is well crafted and the fold-down acrylic cover eases page turning.

It holds heavy books to magazine clippings, but I can totally see the acrylic getting filthy over a number of years. I think a thick piece of glass would of been more ideal. Read more
