looks great but bad engineering, July 1, 2010
I have owned the Cumaru swing and stand for 10 months. The engineering on the stand is off. This is difficult to explain in words, but suffice to say that the bolts to which the chains are attached have plastic grommets on them that are supposed to rotate front to back. The bolts unfortunately can rotate within the substance of the stand, causing the grommets to move in a torquing or lateral motion which cracks them. This makes the swing lurch unpleasantly and the chains "pop" loudly. At the moment I am working with the manufacturer on a resolution. Also the arm of the swing cracked (so much for Amazonian cumaru) and the finish wore off in less than 6 months. Per the manufacturer this cracking is 'normal'.
