Product Description

Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test
Breakthrough technology that takes two measurements instead of one and not only gives an accurate pregnancy result but also estimates how many weeks since ovulation.

Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test with Weeks Estimator is the FIRST and ONLY pregnancy test that not only tells you if you are pregnant but also estimates the number of weeks since ovulation. It’s like 2 tests in 1! This is the latest innovation in home pregnancy testing providing accurate, dependable results that you can trust. Using two separate testing strips, this Advanced Pregnancy Test estimates how many weeks since ovulation (1-2 weeks, 2-3 weeks, 3+ weeks). With an easy-to-read digital display, you can rely on Clearblue to give you two essential answers and more information than any other test currently available.

Indications for use: The Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test with Weeks Estimator is an over-the-counter urine hCG test which is intended for the detection of pregnancy. The test detects hCG in some cases from four days before the expected period (which is 5 days before the day of the missed period).

This test is only intended for individual use at home. It is not intended for use in a healthcare setting.

This test contains a “Weeks Estimator.” The “Weeks Estimator” is meant solely as an estimate for the consumer and is not intended as a substitute for a doctor’s clinical diagnosis. The ‘Weeks Estimator’ is not intended for multiple pregnancies. The estimate provided by the device may be inaccurate in these cases.

This test cannot be used to determine the duration of pregnancy or to monitor the progression of pregnancy. Your doctor determines how many weeks pregnant you are based on the first day of your last menstrual period and ultrasound results. This test provides a different estimate that cannot be substituted for a doctor’s determination of gestational age. Only your doctor can provide a reliable estimate of gestational age and only your doctor can monitor pregnancy progression. You should seek qualified prenatal care if you suspect you are pregnant.

Benefits of Using Weeks Estimator

  • The FIRST and ONLY pregnancy test that can estimate weeks since ovulation - gives you more information than available ever before
  • #1 OB/GYN choice* and 84% of OB/GYNs agree it offers helpful information**
  • Over 99% accurate at detecting pregnancy from the day of the expected period***
  • The digital display uses WORDS and NUMBERS taking away the confusion of interpreting lines at an emotional time

Comparison with How a Doctor May Date Pregnancy

The Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test with Weeks Estimator is a breakthrough test that can give women helpful information to share with their healthcare provider by providing a result as follows:

When a pregnant woman comes into a doctor’s office, it’s very helpful if they know the date of their last menstrual period. Interestingly enough, approximately 70% of women aren’t sure of that date**** and many women have irregular cycles so tracking ovulation can be particularly difficult. Clearblue with Weeks Estimator allows a woman, if she’s pregnant, to estimate the number of weeks since ovulation. During ovulation, an egg is actually released to be fertilized. If it were to occur, fertilization would typically occur within 24-hours of ovulation.

How It Works

2 tests in 1

The Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test with Weeks Estimator contains two measurement strips – a low-sensitivity strip and a high-sensitivity strip. These work together to detect pregnancy and to identify hCG levels (pregnancy hormones) to estimate the number of weeks since ovulation. The high-sensitivity strip detects low levels of hCG, expected in early pregnancy, and the low-sensitivity strip detects higher levels of hCG, typical when pregnancy is more than 3 weeks since ovulation.

Estimated Weeks Calculator

An optical reader inside the test stick is used to measure the results lines and give you a simple, digital readout in words and numbers. If the test is positive, ‘Pregnant’ will be clearly indicated in words on the display along with an estimate of the number of weeks since ovulation: 1-2, 2-3 or 3+. Be sure to see your doctor if your result is positive or if you suspect you are pregnant. You should seek qualified prenatal care if you suspect you are pregnant.

Testing Overview

Before you begin

Please always read the instructions on pack and in the leaflet carefully before use.

Always use the first urine of the day to take the test.

Step 1 — Taking the Test
  • IMPORTANT: throughout testing NEVER hold the test stick with the Absorbent Tip pointing upwards.
  • Place the Absorbent Tip pointing downwards in your urine stream for 5 seconds only. Take care not to get the rest of the test stick wet.
  • Or you can instead collect a sample of your urine in a clean, dry container. Place the absorbent sampler pointing downwards in the urine for 20 seconds only.
  • Replace the cap and lay the test stick flat.
Step 2 — Wait for the Result
  • Once you’ve done the test, an Hour Glass ‘wait’ symbol will flash to show that the test is working.
Step 3 — See the Results within 3 Minutes
  • Within 3 minutes, your final result will be displayed.
  • It is possible for a ‘Pregnant’ result to appear before the Weeks Estimator result. Continue to wait until the hour glass stops flashing to see your Weeks Estimator result.

Your result will remain on the display for about 24 hours. You may want to take a photo if you wish to have the image more than 24 hours post result.

Pregnancy Testing Questions? Learn with Clearblue.

When can I test with Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test with Weeks Estimator?

Clearblue recommends that you test from the day your period is expected. However, hCG increases rapidly in early pregnancy and Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test can be used to test up to 4 days before your expected period, which is 5 days sooner than waiting until you miss your period to test.5 If you test before your expected period and get a ‘Not Pregnant’ result, there is still a chance that you may be pregnant. Some pregnancy tests that claim to be ultrasensitive (detecting pregnancy up to 6 days sooner) are consequently unable to deliver over 99% accuracy from the day of the expected period*** (see product labeling of other tests for more information).

Can any medication or medical conditions affect the result?

Always read manufacturers' instructions for any medication you are taking before testing.

  • Fertility drugs containing hCG (such as Pregnyl and Profasi) can give misleading results (these fertility drugs are usually given by injection). Testing with Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test too soon after administration may give a false ‘Pregnant’ result.
  • If you have recently stopped using hormonal contraception or are using fertility therapies like Clomid, your periods may be irregular, leading you to test too soon.
  • Ectopic pregnancy and ovarian cysts can give misleading results.

If you get unexpected results you should discuss them with your doctor.

How accurate is the Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test with Weeks Estimator?

The new Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test with Weeks Estimator is very accurate, providing trusted answers from the beginning of a woman’s pregnancy. Based on a wealth of clinical data, the Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test with Weeks Estimator is more than 99% accurate at detecting pregnancy from the day of the expected period.*** Like all home pregnancy tests, all results of the Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test with Weeks Estimator should be confirmed by your doctor, especially when making decisions about future medical care.

I just found out that I am pregnant and bought these tests and the First Response Early Result. Be aware that these tests are not as sensitive as FRER. I got a definite line on those and this digital was still saying Not Pregnant. I believe that the FRER catches HcG at about 25 and these digitals not until its 50 and above.

There is no doubt these tests are sensitive and will catch the pregnancy early. However, I took one this AM, using FMU, and the results were 1-2 weeks. I thought that was odd since my beta hCG Monday was 111. I began to think I might be up for having a repeat ectopic or mc since the threshold is 153 for transition to the next phase. In the end, I found out my serum beta hCG was 285 just two hours later. So the results most definitely should have read "2-3" and were incorrect for me.
I want other women to know that this test should not be relied on for concerns over how the pregnancy is progressing in regards to hCG, and do not allow yourself to fret over the results-like I did. :)
Good luck and happy healthy pregnancy to you all.

Thanks for writing a review for the Clearblue Advanced Pregnancy Test with Weeks Estimator. The level of hCG fluctuates as it rises, so it's possible that the weeks estimator can give unexpected results if you test again too soon. We recommend allowing 5 days between tests if you want to test again. Keep in mind that the weeks result is only meant to be an estimate, and you should always consult with a doctor to monitor the progression of your pregnancy. Please give us a call at 1-800-321-3279 if you'd like to talk through your questions. We're open weekdays from 8:30am-5:00pm ET and would be happy to help. Best wishes as you continue with your pregnancy!

There seems to be some confusion about what the results of this test mean. I'll try to clear things up. The 3 levels do in fact measure 3 different levels of HCG, but there's a huge range of sensitivity for each level. If your blood level is 250 and the test only shows 1-2 weeks, it doesn't mean the test is defective. What it does mean its that Clearblue's instructions are not really as clear as they should be.

The manufacturer has to file its test results with the FDA and that's public information. Check out the chart on page 6: http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/cdrh_docs/reviews/K112870.pdf

The Pregnant 3+ weeks threshold is 2600 mIU/ml. However if you look at their data, only 21 of 90 tests they did with exactly 2513 mIU/ml of HCG tested positive. The other 69 were false negatives. You aren't guaranteed to get a "3+ weeks" result until after your level is at least 4000. Clinical guidelines at that gestation are 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml, however, so basically this test can't tell you anything other than "you're pregnant" at 3 weeks past conception.

Please realize that this means that many many 4-week conceptuses (when your doctor would say you are 6 weeks along) are going to test as "2-3 weeks", and that is absolutely not a reason to panic. If you get one negative test, that does not mean a negative result. You have to do several tests, possibly even from different boxes, to be sure.

In summary:

If you get "Not pregnant", you may still have an HCG level below 17. Try another test today, and then again in 2 days.

If you get 1-2 weeks, that means that your HCG level is almost definitely between 10 and 500. It is most likely to be between 10 and 180.

I used all 3 tests a week a part. All 3 came up negative and said not pregnant. But I actually went to the Dr. and had a urine tests as well as a blood test done which both confirmed I was pregnant. I tried a really cheap brand of PT which also read positive. I don't feel like this tests was as accurate as it claimed and I will not buy this test again. It was a waste of money.

Don't waste your money on these tests. They were completely inaccurate for me, and several friends as well. They wouldn't progress to the 2-3 weeks despite having healthy pregnancies that went well past that. All they did was cause worry and stress.

We're glad you chose Clearblue and apologize for the stress you experienced when using our test with Weeks Estimator. The level of hCG fluctuates as it rises, so it's possible that the test can give unexpected results if you test again within 5 days or if you don't use your first urine of the day. Feel free to call our Careline at 1-800-321-3279 if you'd like to talk through your questions. We're here to help M-F from 8:30am-5:00pm ET. We wish you a happy, healthy pregnancy!

This test detected my pregnancy several days before my missed period. The three pack is great because you can test again a week later and watch the weeks count go up. Having had one miscarriage, any reassurance that things are progressing normally before that first doctor's appointment is very helpful.

These pregnancy tests are easy to use. The only negative, that my husband and I agree with, is we hate to see not pregnant in bold glaring letters staring back at us, but they are excellent to confirm the lined pregnancy tests.
