About the Author

J. David Epstein, is one of the leading experts on church tax law today and serves as tax counsel to the American Ministers Professional Association (AMPA). With more than 25 years’ experience in church tax and legal issues, Epstein often files comments with the IRS on tax laws that affect ministers. In addition to many articles and interviews with national media, such as Money Matters with Larry Burkett and Pastor to Pastor with Dr. H.B. I bought this book for my dad, who was in a state trying to find answers for tax issues brought upon hiring a new pastor at his church. Specifically, the questions revolved around opting out of social security and the necessary forms, along with basic questions about what deductions could be claimed for pastors. This book had all the answers my dad was desperately seeking. He was ecstatic and relieved to get the book, which he said answered the questions in a clear, organized, and easy-to-understand manner.
