Great but yeah it is missing 1979..so what,
This review is from: Clerks 2 (Audio CD)
For those of you complaining, chances are you might already have that song laying around somewhere, they more than likely couldn't get the rights to the song for both the movie and the soundtrack. So shut up and enjoy what you have been given which is 97% of the soundtrack from the film, plus hilarious samples of dialogue from the movie. My complaint is that some of the dialogue (particularly in Semantics) is cut right before some of the funnier parts. Small complaint though. And why does the Q. Lazzarus song sound different than the one i have laying around somewhere? Oh well. Basically if you loved the movie, you'll love the soundtrack hands down. Track a copy down and enjoy folks.

Seems to be lacking something.,

First off, Clerks 2 was a great sequel. I thought for sure Kevin Smith was going to fumble the ball with this project, but the movie prevailed to be one of the most entertaining movies of the summer.
That being said, I was disappointed that Smashing Pumpkin's "1979" failed to make the final cut of the soundtrack. This song played during an important scene in the movie and I was extremely surprised that this track wasn't released on the soundtrack. There are still some good tracks on the soundtrack, including Talking Heads "Flowers" and Soul Asylum's "Misery" (Awesome!). King Diamond also has two tracks on the soundtrack that can be fun to listen to. Putting sound bites from the movie in between songs was a very nice touch. Overall, the Clerks 2 soundtrack was lacking, specifically that one magic song. I would recommend this album to any diehard Kevin Smith fan, but only at the cheapest possible price, so shop around. When you get the soundtrack, download Smashing Pumpkin's "1979" and burn it on the cd, only then, will you have the complete soundtrack.

I bought the soundtrack for Clerks II for the dialogue, because no movie has made me laugh as hard as Clerks did. The dialogue was priceless and the clips on the soundtrack really do make up the best clips from the movie, from the Ann Frank debate to the clip on Abstinence I promise you will laugh out loud and never get tired of listening to the.
From the music choices there are really only 3 songs that I enjoyed. The Talking Heads was a solid choice to open the movie and a solid first song on the cd. I like Naughty Girls by S. Fox and whenever I hear it I think of Jay doing his little dance. Misery is also a great song and listening to it brings me back to the go cart scene. Otherwise the songs do very little for me. I really enjoyed the movie and listening to the soundtrack makes me think about how great the movie really was.
