This scoop is completely inaccurate, no matter which way you interpret the instructions. After 2 weeks of wondering why our newborn wasn't gaining weight, I checked this scoop's accuracy using our kitchen scale. It turns out we were wayyyyy underfeeding him.

(On the other hand, the level/funnel piece is wonderful, and we use it often to prepare bottles with the scoop included in the formula can).

We got this for the "helps with not losing count of scoops" reason.

Having used it for a while, I now have several separate gripes with this device. We (like many people) store our formula scoop in the formula container. With the included formula scoop from Enfamil, this is no big deal, the handle sticks out of the formula powder and stays relatively clean. The ClevaScoop has a stubby handle, and the green rubberized part is constantly covered in formula powder, which sticks to your hands when using it. On my hands, it clumps, and then the scoop basically needs to be washed, too.

That's a continual annoyance -- all you have to do is wash your hands again, but I wash them right before making formula _anyway_, and it's simpler for me to count scoops than wash my hands and wash the scoop pieces each time. The funnel is a pain, too.

Also -- the documentation on ours was confusingly written -- i actually got out a scale to verify the weights.
The instructions in the box specifically state that the markings (3 through 8) indicate number of scoops. The outside of the box, however, states that the markings are for "size of feed" -- (ounces, specifically).

The in-box instructions state not to verify by scooping from a small scoop into the ClevaScoop, due to entrained air in the formula. When measured on a scale, though, 8 scoops of our formula (Enfamil Gentlease) weighed 84 grams, and the volume of the "8" marking on the ClevaScoop was 42 grams.

As mentioned in the Enfamil Gentlease instructions, one scoop is intended to make two ounces of prepared formula-- the ClevaScoop box
is correct -- size of feed -- and the ClevaScoop printed instructions are incorrect, and inconsistent with the box.

I was bowled over at first with this new invention as his was my 4th baby and counting scoops was always a challenge when I was constantly being interrupted while counting. When I was at the 8 scoop stage I couldn't figure out why my baby was constantly hungry after every bottle AND waking at night for more. It happened that I measured the amount and put it into the powder container which I bring to my room at night for night feeds and I noticed a marked difference between the amount of powder in the container which I had measured with the clevascoop and the ones I measured with the standard scoop and counting myself. I then realised that when I count the scoops separately I was compressing the powder a little with each scoop, which wasn't happening with the clevascoop. I then ditched the clevascoop and went back to counting. My baby has slept through every night since and not needed feeding at 4 and half months!

Like the previous reviewer mentioned, the written instructions in the box are wrong but the instructions on the box or correct. The insert instructions say that the markings indicate the number of scoops but that is not true. The markings on the scoop correspond to the number of OUNCES (not scoops). This can be verified by getting out your scale and measuring by weight (not by volume).

SO... the execution is very poor, but in the end I did like the product. The funnel is a bit shallow but it does the trick.
