This book is very good information for the person who has been diagnosed with "fibro". I was diagnosed in September 2009 and have read everything that I could get my hands on. I would recommend this book beacause it is an easy read and the information is current.

This is my 5th or 6th book on Fibromyalgia that I have read in the last few months. I did not find anything new in it that I hadn't read for free on the internet or paid for in another book. I don't think Fibromyalgia research is really breaking news, so probably once you've read a couple of books on it and done some research on the internet, you will have the basics down. Now, if this is your first Fibromyalgia book, you will get a vast overview of the disease and it would be great for an introduction book. Well written and well organized.

I have Fibromyalgia, diagnosed in 2009. It has slowly progressed to where it is now, totally disabling, all consuming daily struggle. I did not realize how many symptoms were leading to Fibro until this book. Like one other reviewer I have read many titles on the subject, but in my case, this book has provided new insight, in the very least to how many symptoms are part of Fibro. I might have been able to skip a few visits with specialists if I had read this sooner. I have not finished the book yet, I am on Chapter 5. I have the Kindle version, and I would highly recommend this title to anyone wishing to know more about suffering from Fibromyalgia. This would help both the patient and the relative or friend to understanding just how much of a struggle it is to live with this "syndrome."

I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia after dealing for a few years with symptoms ranging from achey muscles, fatigue, dizzyness and nausea to feeling like I was in a fog most of the time and not being able to form words. It was very scarey and I was referred back and forth between doctors before I finally received a diagnosis of fibromyalgia from my rheumatologist. Although I was relieved to finally have a diagnosis, all I received from my doctor was a diagnosis and a script for prescription drugs. I had no clue what fibromyalgia was all about or what to do with it and knew I needed answers to all my questions. I am so grateful that I found this book. It was excellent and helped me to get the answers I was looking for. It was written in a way that was easy to understand and full of useful information. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia.

I wish that I had this book back in 1987 when I was first diagnosed with Fibro. My description of pain was "a body without skin and the wind blowing on it". The pain led to depression, and on and on. When I heard what I had, I felt a burden lifted from me knowing that what I had was real. I just wish that my old boss and the human resources department had been required to read it, nevermind the back fusion and knee replacement that I had during my last two and a half years of nine that I worked there. This book clearly explains the causes and present treatments for Fibro, and it explains the research that is being done. My thanks for a wonderful description of the symptoms and the understanding and respect for the Fibro patient. I am so glad the Amazon made this book available and it's speedy shipment of the book.

I really felt that this book helped me understand many aspects of fibro and underlying causes. It is a very good "starting" point for anyone suffering from fibro or for people who live with someone who suffers from it. I was diagnosed about ten years ago and it revealed to me some of the physical traits that can lead to this disorder. I wish it had covered more of the daily living with fibro, foods to avoid, life style habits and hints that would help sufferers of fibro.

This book covers all of the tried and true treatments as well as mentions some of the more "off the cuff" approaches to treating this very controversial but very real syndrome. Easy to read, easy to follow and full of interesting facts and resources--I would recommend this to all of my fellow Fibro sufferers.
