Excellent Utility Club,
This review is from: Cleveland Niblick Hybrid (Sports)
I disagree with some that say this is JUST for high handi-cappers. Yes, high HC will definatley benefit from this club, but I'm an 11 HC and know single digit golfers that use the club. In my case, I have trouble with chipping. I can chip like a pro on the practice green but on the course (1 shot, 1 chance), I am inconsistent. I'll chunk it or blade it, etc.
With the niblick, it is easier to hit. Period. At the practice green, I hit a set of twenty balls and get them ALL very close. The difference before was I would use an 8 or 9 iron to chip and would get MOST of them close, with the occassional chunk. So on the course, I still may not hit it close, but it won't be because of a chunk/blade. I may just hit it too hard. This club does require some practice to get used to the distance. It is great for 100 yards and in, but for chipping, you will have to get used to it since the ball comes off a little hot, especially if you use "hinge & hold". IF you use soft hands, just let the club fall on the ball, it will pop it up every time. Very easy to hit.

A must for high handicappers,
This review is from: Cleveland Niblick Hybrid (Sports)
From 100 yards in this club will be your best friend. The weight of the club does all of the work. Be it from the fairway, or the rough (which this works extremely well in) it makes for an easy shot, and next to impossible to hit thin. Great loft and next to no run after landing. Forgiveness and accuracy is excellent. If you have yet to break 100, this is a club that you may strongly want to consider.

Great for chipping, no real complaints. It has a great weight to it and feels balanced.

I bought both the 56 degree and 42 degree hybrid wedges recently. I was having trouble chipping off tight, winter lies. These wedges help some because it is easier to keep your hands in front of the clubhead and easier to judge the distance of the ball.

good utility club - produced sbout the same results as a 9 iron (approximate same loft). I have a standard iron set, rather than hybrid, so it seems a bit odd to me. While to works well, I prefer the 9 iron and would rather have a 3 - PW iron set with a 56 dgree sand wedge and 60 degree wedge, so it's a matter of a 14 club limit and while I like the Niblick around the green, it's not something I'd sacrifice my 9 iron or additional wedges for. Probably a good choice for someone who plays a hybrid set of irons. I play several times a week (in season) and have 16 handicap.
