What a great cd compilation!! All the songs (we sung in our choir) written expressively from Rev. James Cleveland (for the few exceptions and even those) complimented his vocals and spiritual heights to reach the audience who together with the Reverend reached and lifted their hands high to the Almighty Saviour. This cd is an everyday tool in my cd player, and these days it is needed. You won't ever walk alone. Hallelujah!

God truly has smiled on gospel music over the years. No matter where you are in this country and some parts of the world Gospel music has made its mark. There's nothing like waking up on Sunday mornings listening to the sounds of James Cleveland singing "Jesus is the best thing that ever happened". It goes on and on. This CD is what good gospel music is all about, it reminds you of the times when our families were united, when children and parent talked together, prayed together and went to church together. Remember Sunday Dinners?

some of the song's on the C.D. weren't recorded from the very begining such as "I don't feel noways tried" the song starts from the middle of the original live album as well as other song's on the disc, but music lover's will be robbed of some of the very good song's that he has recored.

....plus the Cleveland Classics God has Smiled on Me, I Don't Feel No Ways Tired and Lord Help Me to Hold Out. But the choice of these, in my opinion, is Jesus is the Best Thing in which James banters (testifies, rather) between verse ('I heard Gladys Knight sing this, I changed the words'...and later I don't know who Gladys was talking about, but') and the congregational response is one of appreciation of how clever it was for Cleveland to adopt the tune for gospel, but also how true it feels to each listener, personally. Also, I think Gladys *did* manage to sneak in to do uncredited background harmonies to James. It was a rare moment, a great moment, captured on tape.
This is a CD of gospel greatness. Find it and get it.

Does anyone know how to find the James Cleveland and the Cleveland Singers album from 1979. It has "Think of the Goodness", "My Soul's Been Anchored", "Christ is Coming Back" "Thank You Makes Room" and "Time is lost in Sin" on it. There are other songs, but my father still has it on 8 track. I want to find a cassette for him.

I was very happy to see James Cleveland's music on cd. It brought back many good memories. I hope to buy more recordings by the late James Cleveland.

I LOST THE FIRST CD, BUT I WILL KEEP UP WITH THIS ONE. IT IS ONE OF THE BEST GOSPEL RECORDINGS OF JAMES CLEVELAND. THANK U AMAZON.COM

This CD reminds me of my childhood in the 70's. My grandma was a huge fan of Rev. James Cleveland. The man was a true talent. It brings back memories and I enjoy listening to it. To my surprise, my kids liked some of the songs.

While this disc has the songs one may remember and many more it is missing four songs from the original double LP. One of which is my favourite song on this album from the L.A. Gospel Messengers "Thank You Makes Room for More" among others that I cannot remember at this time.

To the person that says "I Don't Feel Noways Tired" was started from the middle that is not quite accurate. It starts less than 30 seconds into the song. I know because I have the album with the full song.
