This is a wonderful book that has easy to follow directions for those of us who are "directionally challenged". Very tradtional and contemporary designs.

Fat quarters --- those little pieces of fabric we fabriholics can't resist. Here is a book to help you use those pieces.
The first twelve pages give you an overview of a fat quarter and basic quilting instructions including how to sign your quilt --- something not all of us do and we should as it provides a history of the quilt for future generations to appreciate. Then there are sixteen different quilts to make --- all using fat quarters. Strip piecing, triangles, rectangles and squares are used to make these beautiful but simple quilts. Each project has "Quilt Essentials" to begin with. This tells you the size of the finished quilt, the finished block size and the number of fat quarters needed to make the quilt. It also has Clever Fabric Choices to help you choose what colors to use. The material needed and how to cut it are in an easy to read and understand format. Assembling the quilt contains lots of graphics making it easy to visualize the information given. Finished is left up to you or refers you back to the basic instructions section. Some projects have a size options chart. This allows you to make the suggested project or to enlarge it to fit other bed sizes. This is a good book to use up your "left over" fabrics from other project as well as those pieces that were purchased as fat quarters. In the overview, there is a clever tip on making your own fat quarters! As long as the fabric is 18" x 21", you will have enough! Grab a copy of this book and create a fat quarter quilt.

Nice! Some great new ideas for the faint of heart. That would be me. I don't do much quilting but the patterns are easy to understand and fun.

I was in a quilt store looking at this book and found it on Amazon much cheaper. It has many fat quarter quilts and they are really beautiful. I have yet to make one, but I will soon.
