I'll be absolutely honest with you. Normally I don't read books from start to finish in the Internet marketing niche. I scan, find the bits and then dump the book.
Not this time. Joel has created a book that thoroughly entertained me. It could be because I'm a fanboy when it comes to the Internet marketing industry, or it could be because I've made my living online from the time I left university or it could be because I love stories about the personalities involved - the real people stories. The fact is, this book tells a great story as it's primary achievement (as it should!) but also teaches you a ton of tactics you can directly apply to your own business. Perhaps best of all though, is how inspirational it is. I wouldn't buy this if you are looking for a step-by-step how to for beginners, but if you want to know how the pioneers of Internet marketing made their first dollars online and get inspired that you could follow in their footsteps, this is the book to buy. You won't find anything else out there like it simply because it's written by one of the very pioneers that are the focus of the book. Only a guy like Joel could get in touch with so many people from the industry and get them to reveal such tiny details about their journey to make a living online. Great stuff! Click Here to Order is a fascinating history of the first generation of Internet Marketers. If you are curious about the guys who invented many of the online money-making strategies popular today, Joel Comm's new book can fill you in. Anyone who reads my books or my E-Commerce Success Blog knows that I love a good success story. Well, this book is particularly interesting because its focus is exactly that: Individual success stories, not the big IPO companies that are so well covered by the financial press. These are real people who really made it large online. Reading about them can teach you many valuable lessons that you can deploy in your own business and online marketing. The examples cover a nice range from simple "why didn't I think of that" brainstorms, or "got lucky" by buying a good domain name stories, to more techie approaches that you can compare to present day opportunities for yourself. The style is easy-to-read and casual so it makes for a fun read, too. Note that this is mostly a history, though. Many of the niches that were wide open 10 years ago are now more competitive. I have been researching internet-Marketing for over a year, looking for my point-of-entry. After purchasing several books and courses (some good and some bad), I was still a bit confused and frustrated.
My IM Path is much clearer now. Joel Comm has connected the dots and inspired me to "JUMP-IN" and have fun working on the web. Plus, I've thought of six or seven ideas I can monitize on the net.
