I'll be absolutely honest with you. Normally I don't read books from start to finish in the Internet marketing niche. I scan, find the bits and then dump the book.

Not this time.

Joel has created a book that thoroughly entertained me. It could be because I'm a fanboy when it comes to the Internet marketing industry, or it could be because I've made my living online from the time I left university or it could be because I love stories about the personalities involved - the real people stories.

The fact is, this book tells a great story as it's primary achievement (as it should!) but also teaches you a ton of tactics you can directly apply to your own business. Perhaps best of all though, is how inspirational it is.

I wouldn't buy this if you are looking for a step-by-step how to for beginners, but if you want to know how the pioneers of Internet marketing made their first dollars online and get inspired that you could follow in their footsteps, this is the book to buy.

You won't find anything else out there like it simply because it's written by one of the very pioneers that are the focus of the book. Only a guy like Joel could get in touch with so many people from the industry and get them to reveal such tiny details about their journey to make a living online.

Anyone who reads my books or my E-Commerce Success Blog knows that I love a good success story. Well, this book is particularly interesting because its focus is exactly that: Individual success stories, not the big IPO companies that are so well covered by the financial press.

These are real people who really made it large online.

Reading about them can teach you many valuable lessons that you can deploy in your own business and online marketing. For those of us who market primarily online, it's an ever changing world out there. Remaining informed on internet trends and changing markets venues is almost a full time job, and the news we hear about market conditions and the future of the internet marketer is not always cheery. Fortunately, Joel Comm has written a book filled with inspiring internet success stories that may very well fuel your own internet success.

The internet is the last great frontier for entrepreneurs; there are upsides and downsides to marketing in this way, and one of the major downsides is that it's a often solitary, isolating way to work. Your work world can be as tiny as a keyboard and you, sometimes for much of the day. So what's the draw, you might ask. Some of us market this way because first of all we can, because the internet eliminates geographic boundaries making every human with a computer and an online connection a prospective customer, and because it puts a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow within everyone's reach. However, staying focused and motivated in this tiny work world can be challenging.

This book will help internet entrepreneurs to stay pumped by sharing the success stories of internet pioneers who have succeeded beyond their dreams, doing roughly what each of us who markets exclusively online is doing. Some obviously did it better than most, but that's okay. The internet as a marketing medium is as fluid as the sea, changing daily and creating openings for new ways of doing things and new products.

If you market online largely or exclusively, I recommend this book. I think you'll find that it's like your favorite comfort food, giving you that warm fuzzy feeling after a hard day's work...at the keyboard.

Nicely written history book on internet marketing. Halbert, Vitale, Carlton, Abraham, Caples and other copywriting greats are mentioned. Nice website resource section in the back of the book.

I dont get much time to read these days but this was a must for me as it spoke of many people I had read about for two to three years and even bought products from. I took it with me on a recent business trip to Spain (where I am writing this from) and read it cover to cover in two days.

Having bought and implemented Joel's higher priced products with great success in the past, this book at the price he is charging is a no brainer...read it!

What I got out of it personally was a lot more than the actual "guts" itself (which was actually highly motivational and incredibly interesting). What it did for me was to put a background and history to all the people I had been receiving emails from for the past few years.

It made them seem more real, trustworthy, likeable and made me feel more at ease about buying any of their future products. I have been in many areas of sales from multilevel to timeshare to real estate plus a few more and I have developed a rather thick skin and skeptical attitude.

This book took all that away and has motivated me even more to "keep on keeping on"! Nice one Joel!

If you truly want to learn the insider secrets to how regular people became internet marketing superstars, this is the book that you must have in your collection!

I particularly like the early part where Joel shared on how the whole internet world came about.

This is the history of Internet. Joel comm has tried to fit in everything in this book. From history to marketing. There is some technical information in there that does not relate to anything. No doubt the one on one interviews are quite interesting. You can skip the pages with technicalities and read through without missing anything. On the whole an average read.

As someone who's been in "internet marketing" since 1996, I was interested in seeing how accurate Joel covered that part of our industry that I watched develop, plus I wanted the history of the 40 years before I discovered the internet.

Joel did a masterful job. His writing style is entertaining, factual, and non-techie enough to make the book just a fun read. I'll be buying copies for my non-IM friends to use in better explaining what we do. I like the fact that he included me when he said, "But a small band of Internet Marketing Pioneer were quietly making their fortunes online before anyone Yahoo'd or Googled the term make money online."
