5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect book about digital photography.
I bought "Click!" a few days ago and downloaded Photoshop Elements off the Internet -- the program the book uses to learn how to fix/alter/restore/manage photos. 2.0 out of 5 stars Even for beginners its not that good
1.The Book gives you short information on some of the subjects related to Digital Cameras but not all

2.The information is not that deep, For example the book dose not go through the digital camera menus or provide explanatory figures.

3.The information related to scanning and printing are too shallow. It also has a Camera comparison list at the end of the book but...

I bought "Click!" a few days ago and downloaded Photoshop Elements off the Internet -- the program the book uses to learn how to fix/alter/restore/manage photos. I am finding myself very impressed with this book. It's extremely easy to understand, and does more than tell you about digital cameras and how to manipulate/alter photos. It's also gives unexpectedly good advice and tips for taking photos. It tells of some of the more traditional elements photographers look for when taking a photo, yet doesn't forget the photographer is free -- "Remember, it's O.K. to break any rule as long as there is a good reason". There is so much useful stuff in this book and it is even enjoyable to read -- well written and to-the-point as the "No Non-sense" title suggests. It is perfect for anyone who wants to do a lot with their digital camera and photos, as well as anyone who wants to learn about the art of photography and the technical aspects of the camera. The book's pick of using Photoshop Elements (your "Digital Darkroom") is also a good choice. My favorite part is the restoring old photos section.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great if you're new to digital photography!, March 16, 2003

This review is from: Click!: The No Nonsense Guide to Digital Cameras (Paperback)
"Click! The No Nonsense Guide to Digital Cameras" is misnamed. It covers a lot more than just cameras. In a couple of hundred pages, it includes using a scanner and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 to rescue faded, damaged family photos, the basic guidelines to good picture taking, how to use Elements 2 to improve your digital photos, and how to print and preserve your pictures for the ages. The most fun is the chapter that tells you how to create fantastic images such as a literal gilded lily covered with gold. White, the author of the bestseller "How Computers Work," knows how to pack a lot of helpful, understandable information in a brief no nonsense book.

3.The information related to scanning and printing are too shallow. It also has a Camera comparison list at the end of the book but you can get the information from the manufacturers Web page you do not need to pay for it.

4.I would consider this book as a buyers guide for real novice beginner but not a source of information.
