I read about this product when it was recently reviewed in the Wall Street Journal. It is every bit as simple and straightforward as advertised and a lot smaller than I imagined.

Unless you like to torture yourself, I would recommend this as a backup system for computers running XP. I don't know if it works as well on Vista, but I bet it does.

It is too simple-minded. Not clear how to specify the file extensions to be saved. In particular, there should be a scan function that reports the file extensions not being saved with a screen to checkmark those specific ones to be saved. Some people have more file types than mp3 and gif. It is not clear what happens when a file is deleted that was previously saved. The unit does not always recognize the presence of the unit when first plugged in. Can you restore by clicking on a particular saved folder and have only it restored? I'm hoping that the saved set of files is not a blackhole?
