The Clickable Corporation is an excellent overview book for those who want to START understanding the e-commerce and how to apply it in their own business. It is very practical (the use of case stories around 8 key themes) and lacks pretence or jargon that intimidates in many other publications.

Everyone talks about the value of the Internet and without a doubt there are many. If you want to learn about the key distinct business values of the Internet, read The Clickable Corporation. There is so much being written about the Internet, it is refreshing to find a book like this one that nets down and presents the key points without taking volumes. The eight distinct advantages help get your arms around the complex world of the Internet and its implications on business. I just wish the examples had more detail.

If you want to hear a whoppingly good reivew of a job well done, this is the book for you. If you want to know the ups and downs of how they did it, look further. This overivew of one good effort after another gives scant to no insight into the machinations of their business plans, strategies, challenges, or process focus. While Seinfed may believe "not that there's anything wrong with that..." it is a canvassing of top seed efforts that leaves the reader very little better off than before.

Reading The Clickable Corporation has convinced me that it really is time for my company to go on the web, and has given me some great ideas for setting up a web site that will help us reach the customers we need to. I've already recommended it to many of my colleagues.

Case histories of the most successful Internet strategies,

The Clickable Corporation is very readable with some great insights on how successful companies are making the most of the Internet - right now.The best thing about the book is that it profiles actual companies- some old line, others Internet born- and describes in detail their successful (and not so successful) strategies. We learn from both their successes and early failures. The use of actual case histories makes the book much more valuable than simply reading some expert's opinions and theories on what may or may not work on the Internet. These are proven strategies.These companies are out there getting results today! As business people we can either learn these lessons here in the pages of the Clickable Corporation or learn them painfully and at greater expense in the open marketplace. I, for one, am glad I learned my lessons here. A definite buy!

Armstrong, Rosenoer and Gates have crafted a powerful tool for reaching executives and higher-level decision makers. Not an overly technical read, nor a "how-to", "The Clickable Corporation" describes the value large multi-national corporations experienced in developing and implementing internet and eCommerce strategies. Although it may be critized for being a "thin" read by people looking for a "how to", it is definitely the ideal tool for convincing those who control the purse strings "why we should". Ceo's and the like have no time for ZDNet or Information Week, but they will definitely be reached by "The Clickable Corporation".

Superb executive summary,

This is an absolutely superb Executive summary of how businesses are leveraging the Internet in their respective businesses. I am at heart a techie and miss some of the wonderfully cryptic detail, but this book is for the massess. It provides an excellent insight into the past, present, and future of electronic commerce.

This book offers successful strategies for capturing the advantages offered by the internet. The authors demonstrate that vale comes from: information, choice, convenience, customization, savings, community, entertainment, and trust.
This book focuses on numerous companies that have successfully used the internet. These "clickable" corporations, according to the authors, must identify and leverage the eight value propositions, information, choice, convenience, customization, savings, community, entertainment, and trust of web business: 1. Companies must offer access to information. Information about the services or the products used. 2. Customers in today's economy demand choice. Customers need to feel that not only do they have a choice; they have the tools to make the best choice. 3. Convenience is critical. Companies must continue to make their products and services as convenient as possible. 4. Companies must be able to tailor their products and services to each customer. Offer the customization that demanding customers deserve. 5. Pass on the savings gained from being properly aligned with the advantages of eh internet directly to customers. 6. Understand the needs and interests of customers and learn to build an on-line community for these customers. This will allow businesses to target these particular communities. 7. Interactive, fun web sites that have entertainment value can draw customers. This draw will allow business to leverage the value of training to target a wide variety of services and products to these customers. 8. To build trust, security and privacy must be stressed and maintained.

The book has great cases and like a good collection of short stories can be read with ease and patience. Given that most of us keep fairly busy and quality reading time is scarce, this book is a great one to read in installments. Moreover, the chapters are self contained and the simplistic style makes it easy to navigate .

If you want to know where you're going in the world of E-Commerce, get this book. It's the map you can't be without. If you want to be hip with all the right e-strategies and e-words and e-phrases, you can't go wrong with "Clickable".
