Ok, so I'm a quant-dork and actually track my workout programs in a spreadsheet. This includes things like my daily body weight, body fat and what I eat all day (along with the usual list of workouts and stuff like that). During a recent training program I ate these builder bars after each workout with a glass of Muscle Milk. My body fat slowly decreased while my weight stayed the same or even increased. I wasn't looking to bulk up but build more muscle since in the past I had seen my total body weight drop too much during workout programs indicating I was losing muscle mass. That didn't seem to happen when I used these protein bars. In addition I also saw good improvements in the amount of weight I was lifting.

These protein bars are surprisingly good. True, protein bars are never really great but these are really good and almost get to the point of me thinking I want one even when I haven't worked out.

Buy these if if you are on a workout program where you want to add or maintain muscle weight.

Don't buy these if you aren't using them in conjunction with a workout program since they are high in protein and calories so you need to do something so your body makes proper use of the contents of these bars.

Note: There is an error on the detail page above for these bars....they don't have 2-3g of protein each but rather 23g each.

Don't know who to fault with this, but a price jump from $18 for 18 ($1 per bar) bars to $25 for 18 ($1.38 per bar) bars without notice on the Subscribe & Save plan is really not fun.

I am canceling my S&S order today and will go back to brick and mortar purchase as it is cheaper to buy them individually than it is to buy them by the box from Amazon. (local stores have them for $1.25 per bar)

I am an incoming college student who is dorming and im not gonna have my own kitchen or stove to really cook my own meals, so these bars will make a great meal replacement. There's gonna be times in between classes and when im hungry but don't wanna spend one of my meal plans- which is a great time just pop one of these suckers and enjoy. Just to let potential buyers know- some of the previous reviews are right- expect the bars to be slightly melted ( probably hot shipping conditions or just that fact that the weather was in the 80's and 90's) As soon as i received my box of builder's bars, i placed them in my fridge for a few hours to prevent any more melting. The bars taste good, and are a decent meal replacement or muscle building snack in between meals or when you're on the go and don't want to spend time preparing a meal. There are bars out there that taste better and have more protein, but Cliff Builder's bar are lower in cals than some brands (270 cals and 20g of protein).Also , if you need some protein bars a a low price, subscribe and save gives you a %15 discount and you can cancel whenever you want for free. I would probably buy these bars again, but maybe i just might buy the 24 pack at Costco for about the same price+tax. Overall, this is a great snack to keep your metabolism going in the middle of the day to prevent you from going catabolic- but these definitely don't take the place of a pre or post-workout shake. One should use these bars to supplement their diet and go alongside their whey protein and ect. Grade B- 80/100

It's tough to find all natural protein bars. It's also tough to find protein bars that taste good without being horrible for you (aka glorified candy bars). These are both.

They are fairly calorie heavy, but if you're burning a ton of calories, looking to bulk up, or even just maintaining with reasonable weightlifting and cardio, these are perfect. I look forward to having them, and they helped my wife get her chocolate fix during P90X without giving in and having a fat-laden chocolate bar.

The price for this variety pack is also unheard of for protein or energy bars, especially if you do subscribe and save.

I have not found a place that can match the price per bar for these. I eat one of these 5 days of the week as its a great snack while I am at the office or after morning workout.

To me these taste like candy, have tried a majority of the protein bars out there and these are way up there in the taste area. At 20g protein and ~31g carbs these are a decent bar for a meal replacement. About 270 calories and 23 grams of sugar so if you are on a sub 2000 calorie meal plan these might not be your best option.

I'm a petite/tiny 110lb vegan woman who uses these bars as meal replacements. I have two in the mornings & one in the evening because it's hard for me to get in the 1800+ calories I need a day (active lifestyle) in order to maintain my weight.

They don't taste like dessert but I enjoy the peanut butter flavor the best. I was really happy to find them to be less than a dollar each with 'Subscribe and Save'. Now the price has increased by $7.51 WITH 'Subscribe and Save'. Since, I go through 1 box in 6 days I really hope the price goes back down.

I was getting these through the S&S for about $18 dollars for a box of 18. When the price increased, I just started buying the box of 18 for $19 at Sam's club. So it was really great before the price increase. There is no problem with the product though. Just the price.

I recently spent three wonderful months in Nepal. It was very difficult to find quality energy bars there, even in the Thamel section of Kathmandu. When I did find some, they were expensive and/or of questionable quality. Fortunately, I had thrown a box of Builder's in my luggage. I now wish I had made that four boxes! When traveling, one might not have access to consistent quantities of quality protein. If you get ill or just feel you aren't giving your body what it needs by eating rice and lentils, a Builder's bar can supply a much-needed protein supplement. The bars are well-wrapped and keep well even in the heat and humidity of the monsoon season.

These are the best tasting high protein bars on the market! Others leave a chalky or metallic aftertaste, but Cliff bars are all natural and delicious! I HIGHLY recommend!

I love these. I was afraid the peanut butter one would not be as delicious as the chocolate ones, but they are more delicious! At only 270 calories they are a decent replacement for meals
