This book is great if you're looking for a new opinion of All Quit on the Western Front. If you have the read the book for a school assignment but don't want to, don't think this book will get you out of it. This is simply a study guide for the real book.

The False Hopes,
By A Customer
This review is from: CliffsNotes on Remarque's All Quiet On The Western Front (Paperback)
I think that this book provides us with great notions about how the war crushed an entire generation of people; people who were hopeful, ambitous, and progressive. The story is about more than one man; it is about an entire generation

I have to admit that I read the Cliff Notes after I read the book twice and saw all three movies. However, the notes are still helped with understanding points that were not previously stresses. Knowing more about the Author helps in see why he chose the perspective. Keep in mind that any conclusions drawn in the notes are those of Sudan Van Kirk. After reading this supplement you may want to re read the book. The notes include:. Life and Background of the Author . Genera; Plot summary . Remarque's Introductory Note . Critical Commentaries . Remarque's Style . Remarque as a Social Critic . Character Analyses . Questions for Review "He fell in October 1918, on a day that was so quiet and still on the whole front, that the army report confined itself to the single sentence: All quiet on the western Front."

I have just read the book, I being Dr. Shapiro, world famous book reviewer, found that the language used in this book is extremely inapropriate and that the book seemed as if it would never end.

This book was outstanding. Though I don't get into Historical Fiction, it was worth the time to read it. It really shows how much you depend on life and friends when it comes down to a war of blood, hopelessness, and depression! Read on! this book is GOOD!

Big overture, but little show,

This review is from: CliffsNotes on Remarque's All Quiet On The Western Front (Paperback)
"All quiet on the Western Front" was a fairly good book, but was extremely repetitive and in some ways very boring. The whole story lingered too much and there were countless run-ons. Although the book never seemed to end, it had a very touching story and expressed the graphic horrors of war. I recommend this book, but only to the open minded.
